Happy to see all of these improvements.

It would be great if the new releases pages showed a personalised list of artists I'm interested in!

I agree - especially since this site is analysing our tastes already, this shouldn't be too hard to implement.

That would be great to see that of all the bands I like to see what they're releasing in the future. Not the mainstream bands.

Every update is more and more like pop radio. Pointless. Bring back my personal info. I don't give a damn how mainstream you think I may or not be. I want my tags back.

As long as LFM ignore the most wanted features by users with all the functional and social aspects, you will miss the standing ovations you could get. But I'm glad for the search page improvement. Like Tom posted, the incomprehensible limitation was a problem. Now it's much better. Well done, thank you for that. To integrate the user search would be perfect. Any chance on this?
I also like the new and especially the upcoming releases. It would be nice, if you could personalize them like 666 and James wrote above. (You know, once you've found your own taste, mainstream recommandations are useless & annoying. And LFM should be helpful to develope the own taste, shouldn't it?) E.g. on Spotifys "New Releases" I like the "Release Radar" the most. Because of that my title for this announcement:
"2 out of 3 ain't bad"
My last request: Please check reality and have a look on the votes of the posted ideas in this forum. Develope every 2nd sprint one of them and you are my heroes.

Hey, what is the point of new releases feature if we can't filter only artists from user's library.

A filter like (a) "Similar Too The Artist (...) You Listen To", (b) "From Your Artist Library" or (c) "Tag" is the (coming?) improvement to this improvement.

James, I've noticed on my mobile device, that the searching results are limited to more or less 30 hits. Is it possible to cancel the limitation?

One of the best updates by far, but... I wonder why Last.fm always when fixing something, makes it a bit "less" than it was before. First time there was "Friends listening" which looks quite uncomfortable to use (because of need for clicking once to see scrobbles of "friends"), now we got this with extended search.

So, my request, dear Last.fm!
Give us pagination to see everything from search results!

"Listeners you know" can be found next to your Scrobble count on artist pages.

Wow I'm surprised and happy with this update, but I wanted to reinforce the idea of some kind of news feed, where we can discuss music / voting and other related things

connection with fb would be cool too

Definitely a step into the right direction. The "new releases" feature could be magnificent when all the improvements mentioned above are applied.

Couldn't have been more than a couple of days ago I was searching for a album with an ambiguous name, looking at the search results (with all 5 or so results) wondering when that'd be sorted.  Great timing.

First new releases and upcoming releases feature is a great add (even if it's only mainstream bands).

I suggest some other features:
  • Filter on bands we already listened, or bands we can like (Like others in this thread said).
  • Add the ability to filter by tags.
Finally, I don't understand why all releases are not displayed? For example, This album was released on March 17, https://www.last.fm/music/Desolace/Photosynthesis (And you have the data) but I can't see this in your list, Why? Could you explain me? (I hope it's not because they are only 400 listeners ...)

Regards,

>>>I don't understand why all releases are not displayed?

That was tried initially, and it went from ~170 pages to over 3000.  Without filters as you suggested (see Sachin's reply above), you'd have to click through hundreds of pages of very obscure releases, reissues, and compilation cds to find anything of interest.  Browsing through really obscure music that no one else knows about might sound appealing on paper, but we're talking about pages and pages and pages of releases with absolutely nothing but blank album covers, no tags, no playlinks, and no listeners or scrobbles to give you any kind of indication of what music it is.

I just noticed this today (March 24) as I'd been away for a bit. Must say I was very excited to see more then 5 in my search results! Look forward to using the 'new & upcoming releases' feature.  Great update!!  p.s.  I used to get an email/notification sent to me when you had a Website update but didn't see one for this. ? Have you stopped sending them?

I actually find the listening reports to be very valuable data to me so I appreciate that December has been added to Last.year. Also I completely forgot that 2016 was a leap year.

Please, for the love of god, show _who_ is attending an event and not just the number of people.

finally a good update - restore a decent search was in particular one of the priorities for many users.
there are some other urgent things, 1) turn off autocorrection again if the user wants; 2) EVENTS (venue creation/edit, see who the attenders are, etc.), 3) restoring the personal tags (and also journals, groups, etc.). THEN you can introduce all the new & funny updates you prefer, and fix/complete the catalogue with all the time this deserves (as long as people can scrobble their correctly tagged music in the meantime)

please, there's just a little effort nowto get back to something similar (and in some things better) to the old Lastfm.

¡Hola James!
I was just opening an e-mail link by "Devine_Chaos" and saw this iOs Safari screen:
So I was able to close the recommandation by tapping the "x". - Very satisfying!
Unfortunately I've got after scrolling the regular recommandation without the closing option like here:
It would be great if you could implement this function to the regular recommandations on mobile screens too. You know, the mobile screens aren't that big ...
What do you thing about that? :-)

Oh well. Another release and still nothing on stopping rampant autocorrect. It would be so nice to be able to switch this off. Could't anybody at last.fm at least address this?
