Hello Nasty,

We just released Sprint 182. Here's some of what's in it:

Features
  • Allow setting of location for events and recs
  • Re-enable auto-refresh of recent tracks
You can enable this in your settings or from your profile
  • Add similar artists play link to similar artists sub-page
  • Display loved tracks count on loved tracks page

Bugfixes
  • Fix long album names breaking layout on track page
In addition to this we're asking some users to re-verify their email address. We're doing this to make sure our details are up-to-date.

Cheers,
James

I hope that bbc code returns for the about me, being able to see the last 6 people in our profiles if you subscribe, being able to block unwanted followers, being able to delete certain artists that I no longer listen to, and neighbours. Please, please, please.

I don't mind verifying my email address but how am I supposed to do that when you're not SENDING any email to that address?? I've requested a new email to be sent countless times now and yes, I've checked my spam folder, but I'm not getting the email.

hallelujah, the ability of setting location for events' search gives finally some SENSE to the search!
apart from the customization of the km-range, the other IMPORTANT things that events system need are:
- ADD/EDIT VENUES, and see their own page with all the past and future gigs ( = less duplicate events created in the future)
- MERGE duplicate events (...and also merge duplicate venues, with some centralized control)
- see WHO ATTEND the events.

other stuff like share event via lastfm/invite people are less urgent... (you can manage to tell your friends about an event via chat or PM)

I think this stuff has little to do with the "catalogue" issue, so you could easily introduce these features before the catalogue thing is done... and we could have a well-working and almost COMPLETE (!) social part in the site!

Could you maybe clarify for those of us who have been waiting for basic functionality to return whilst seeing these updates that tweak rarely used features:

1. When will Neighbours, and --most importantly-- Neighborhood Radio return?
2. When will the equivalent of Friends Radio return?

Just fyi the only point of having friends (or, as you are now calling the, followers) on Last.fm is for music discovery, and this is done most easily via Friends Radio. Now, there's no... point.

You used to be able to pull up either your friends or your neighbors and then, (a) see at a glance what each and all are listening to; and (b) click the play radio to get a great mix. Now, to accomplish the same goal, one would have to visit the libraries of each "follower," choose some tracks from each library, add them to a playlist, play the playlist, and then do it all over again to get fresh tracks.

WHEN WILL THIS BASIC FUNCTIONALITY OF A MUSIC SERVICE RETURN?

I liked this so hard my mouse almost broke.  Yes I concur 100%, bring neighbors back and make the site functional again.  8 months of crap updates tbh, bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back bring neighbors back

With your question Renstrike one thing become increasingly clear: It's necessary to publish a TODO-Ranking.
As a part of open communication it could give us user orientation, when a special feature will be reinstalled. Also the anger of a lot of user could be reduced.
(Ok, you can argument, exactly the ranking pushed the dissatisfaction because some people don't agree with the position of a special feature in this list. But it's better to know this, than to know nothing.)

That is not as silly as it sounds. You have a blackboard and you have drawn up plans for several months. You are so sure about this new makeover - you go “LIVE” and then all this chatter?

What is that? Users want Scccraaattccchhhhh Hold it! Users?

after the other post about the catalogue issues for beta-subscribers, are you planning to stop all the other updates to the site for another summer? :/

One year anniversary soon! Just look at all that's been accomplished in all that time!
I'd say that's reason enough for everyone to treat themselves with a nice big summer vacation.

Was this really the last update? We can start predicting the May update:

"--changed color of gear icon.,
--now showing 15 previous shouts in shoutbox"

Hello Busty,

We just released the outstanding Sprint 183. Here's some of what's in it:

Features
  • Added more white spaces to make the page look fashionably
  • Re-re-re-enable auto-refresh of recent tracks
You can re-re-enable this in your settings or from your profile
Bugfixes
  • No bugfixes, we haven't any time
We're currently working on Sprint 184 with ads update and probably renaming followers into friends (yes! we care about your thoughts!), which we expect to be done in 2 years.

Cheers,
James
