Is Neighbours still under development, or has it been completed now?

I don't know when we'll do this, but something I'd definitely like to see is neighbours filtering -- for example by time range (since your taste in music changes over time), and by tag as well (e.g. "Who are my country neighbours?", "Who are my gangster rap neighbours?", etc).

Neighbours needs to be tweaked so NOT to list users who haven't listen in the last 30 days! (or have the option to set a timeframe)

Nice that development work is going on again, but what I miss most is the option to add venues (and edit them) plus a cleanup is needed to either merge / delete or edit venues with typos and/or misinformation

Shouts, don't use it much but  voting and replying might be useful some times.

I find the new neighbors useless. Yes,  they were all Super (except second on list who was low), but only one neighbor of all the ones I checked had listened to anything in the last week and one in the last month. A couple or three had listened to something in the last year. All the rest hadn't listened to anything in over a year. Unless neighbors are filtered to include current listeners only, they are useless as far as I am concerned.

You need much to bring back the most played songs of artists in their pages in the last 7 days, 30 days ... etc .. would be a good idea to also have the TOP OF LAST FM , with all the songs / ALBUMS / ARTISTS most played the last 7 days, etc . with the number of executions

I have to click on Neighbours a few times before they show up sometimes.  Otherwise, it's great to have it back, although I still prefer how it used to look with the little pictures of the artists you share in common.  I'd also hoped it would have an ability to change the timeframe as in the Neighbors in the old playground.

When you add the function of removing artists from the library?

the page doesn't direct properly - half the time it just refreshes my profile page.

also, what would be more helpful is adding to the artist pages which of your friends listens to that artist with a link to their library... the lack of this feature is a huge gap in connecting with people i already know about artists - not finding new people to connect with the big artists i already know many people like.

There is a browser extension for that feature called Friends Who Listen.

i appreciate the link, i just don't feel that we should have to jerry-rig our brosers to get this site to work the way it used to.  it's an important feature that they don't seem to care about prioritizing.

Besides, despite how good that extension is, it constantly crashes the browser (I had to uninstall it for this reason). That is the feature I miss the most, it was really useful for when you had just discovered an artist and didn't quite know where to start.

I have only 11 neighbours, though I often had this same problem on the old Last.fm. Can this be improved somehow? Why does this always happen to me? I also have poor compatibility with many of them, and on my neighbours page it sometimes only lists one artist that we have in common.

You seem to be listening to rather unusual artists, as far as I can see, so that might explain it.

For me musical neighbourship was the main reason to become a last.fm user. So I'm really glad about this sprint. ('Don't thought, you do two sprints in one day.) So I like to thank you for brought back the neighbourship and looking forward for the return of more social functions.

As someone already mentioned, neighbours work sometimes, but most of the time it just refreshes the page you're on. All in all, thank you for another useless update.

hi, I m so glad to see neighbours back !!

But there is an issue ..

among my 50 recommended neighbours 2 of them are already friends of me ! In addition, I share one specific band with 45 of my other neighbours since I have more than 2000 artist in my library and moreover this specific band is not on the top of my listening history (place 22)... Some improvements must be done maybe to filter users with artists from our alltime listening history

**(Its been some 3 months I v last scrobbled artists and surely not this band which I share with most of my recommended neighbours)

Neighbours back at lastfm is a good thing.

My immediate feedback, though: I don't find the neghbours list particularly useful, since when I arrive on each profile:
- I can't see NAME, AGE and COUNTRY in the "about me" section (since it wasn't completely restored yet)
- .. nor can I understand something more about the user seeing its next live events... because... almost no one use the events anymore since STILL that part of the site isn't restored well (and I'm afraid it won't be until the autumn... don't think many other updates are gonna come in the summer...)

So, neighbours-back is good thing, but can't work at its best cause so much is still missing from the rest of the site.

This is nice! I'd really like to be able to delete songs though (songs that were scrobbled before the account was created cannot be deleted at the moment)...

Neighbours are good.
But please tell us when approximately will be returned full version of recommendations. More artists. Recommendations by genre. Posssibility to dismiss the recomendation.

P.S. If you can't do all these things fast. At least make for the first time just more recommended artists than now - 24 artists is so little. Make them multipaged as similiar artists.

Recommendations is one of the unique features of lastfm. Why did you limited it so much?

Yeap, exactly my opinion, glad to see someone else shares it. I think I commented a dozen times about recommendations, they said they'll be improved but I think we'll have to wait a lot considering how slowly things are moving around here.

I honestly don't understand, as you also pointed, if they can't improve them at least we should get a more decent number (24 is a joke). I remember when people were complaining about the small number of similar artists and in the next update they increased their number. I don't think it would be that hard to do the same with recommendations. For me they are unusable right now, so I'm using a combination of Spotify, Deezer, Bandhook (for Android) and sometimes the radio to discover new artists.

And yes, I totally agree, recommendations used to be one of the unique features of last.fm.. I guess last.fm is not unique anymore :)

My enthusiasm about the neighbours featured has been tempered a little after the following constations.

After reading some of the comments here I wanted to know how many neighbours are actually 'active' (i.e. have scrobbled at least 1 track since April 1st 2016). These are the results: 32 neighbours have scrobbled, while 18 haven't, which is 1/3 I consider inactive.

Based on this  I assume deleted users are not filtered out of the results.  Therefore I suggest that in a later phase deleted users and users without a recent scrobbling history (3-6 months without inactivity) are no longer taken into consideration for getting into someone's neighbour list or make this option available.

The layout of the page is okay with me, but maybe you should consider adding the compatibility colour or percentage somewhere or gender/age/location information when available.

Overall I'm happy with the update as an addition, but there is room for improvement:7/10
