Hi there,

We’ve just released the following:

  • Listeners you know
See which users you follow listen to an artist

  • Two new subscriber only listening report modules (available from Friday):

    • Musical matches
See who else shares your top track this week

    • Mainstream-o-meter
See where your listening habits lie on the niche - mainstream scale

  • Join form inline validation
Getting a Last.fm account is now much easier, as you can see whether your desired username is available as you type. Tell your friends!

  • Automatically @mention artists when sharing your listening report stats to Twitter

  • Full lyrics pages now available in the UK (as well as the US)

Cheers,
Team Last.fm

I think there might be a glitch in the mainstream-o-meter, mine says 0% on the desktop version but when I view it on mobile it's 56%, which sounds a lot more likely. My username is WIracocha but I saw the same thing in another profile

I just raised this with the team - looks like some ad / script blocking browser extensions are interfering with the module's javascript.

Can you confirm which desktop browser you're using please?

Firefox and I do have adblocker enabled, disabling it makes the meter work like you said.

I got mine as well, I wish the new Twitter sharing feature adding @ to the artist name would work anywhere, i.e. in all parts of all modules.

A fix has been deployed to make the mainstream-o-meter load with ad block.  You shouldn't need to disable it now.

Why not post amazing new features like this on twitter? Anyway, it slowly approaches the point when the subcription becomes really interesting. In the past it didn't have much added value to subscribe in my opinion. A bit more like this and I could be convinced.

Album pages look a lot nicer now. Everything is more compact and clean, with more albums per page.

@jon, the big black square is where the ads are suppose to be, but for some odd reason it's now just a big black square on the right side and it goes up and down as I scroll the pages and it's also on the other pages I visit. I turned on adblock and it went away, but I am not going to turn it off unless you fix it.

Most useful update in a long time. Still quite a way to go before the site is back to its old glory, though. Most needed now, in my opinion, and roughly in order from most to least urgent: Longer about me section with BB code, groups and forums, an auto-correct feature that isn't laden with ruinous bugs (and, ideally, that can be used to selectively correct old mistakes we made solely in our libraries without those having to be voted on by the members), BB code in shouts and private messages, artist differentiation (for example, I have around 1,000 scrobbles of the Swedish Shining and around 1,000 of the Norwegian Shining, but have no way of knowing which I've listened to more without actually counting the number of plays of tracks by each), journals, username changes. To be fair, some of these never actually existed, but it's absolutely staggering that it's been one and a half years and some of the core features of the old site still haven't returned.

Not to forget a way to sort your library alphabetically and a way to browse your tags at all. It's astounding how these basic functions are still not available.

The feature looks solid, but the problem is, it's not informative and doesn't work with songs and albums. More features on last.FM are missing. For example, top listeners for an album. Does anyone remember that? Including the list of recent listeners and the list of programs that they're using to listen to their favorite artists. I remember when the old last.FM existed; you could click "show more recent listeners." You click, and you get a list of all current listeners. Are you planning to return that one day?

The update that I need in your website is  in the Library Page. For right now all I can do is click next and previous to view pages. I need to click next button 90x to view my artist. I got 94 pages of artist in my library so it's quite difficult to browse.

There should be options in click page numbers, and view first/last page.

thanks.

I realized doing that yesterday, but is a hassle to most if you have to enter every time the page number in the URL. Clicking the page number will be faster and simpler for users.

I am more for to add "show more" button. You click it, and he automatically starts to display more and more pages. What do you think? I'm also for something like this:

yes, that would be helpful too. More efficient than typing it on the URL
