What does this say about last.fm's compability algorithm?

Me: ~16 000 scrobbles since 2016
Neighbor: ~43 000 scrobbles since 2014

Compability according to last.fm: Super - 99%

...but of the top 100 artists of said neighbor, I have scrobbled exactly one - which is my #1 artist with 2200 scrobbles and his #11 with 700. Looking at the top 300, we have just two more artists in common - his #126 is my #2 and his #254 is my #38. How come our compatibility is listed as 99% if I have not scrobbled a single track of the 124 other artists in this neighbor's top 125 and we only have 3 of 300 artists in common? (Not to mention that in my opinion the rest of his artists are mostly crap I wouldn't be caught dead listening to, but I don't expect last.fm to know that...)

What is the time range you're comparing? Compatibility is based on what you have in common in recently scrobbled artists. What is "recently" is a bit of a secret but from what I've seen it seems to be about 1 to 3 months. The compatibility isn't meant to be a total comparison of what both of you have scrobbled in total from the beginning.
