Yeah, I'm wondering this too. There's little to no info from the staff, and they barely answer any threads on this forum. I'm no executive, but that's a terrible business model.

You gotta give your customers something to hold on to, something to look forward to.. anything, but you're not even doing that.

If this doesn't change, I fear it's the end of Last.fm. Most of us aren't just blind followers..

Eh. Read the forums first before you start bitching. The first update should happen by the end of the week or at the beginning of the next one.

It shouldn't be so hard finding this information (if it exists). I've scanned the forum and haven't seen anything suggesting that. All I know is their to-do list wasn't updated for weeks before the banner was removed from the site. This doesn't bode well for my confidence in the future of the site.

@Omer Elbaz:

From the lead web developer:

"Now that things have settled down after the big release we'll get back in to our two-weekly sprint cycle. This means you should see releases every fortnight. The next one will be around 10-14 days from now."
https://getsatisfaction.com/lastfm/topics/beta-update-5th-august?topic-reply-list[settings][filter_b...

Post from old forums:

"That being said, please understand that we operate with a small development team, and the nature of software development is such that changes will not happen overnight, but in gradual increments (what the development team call 'sprints')."
http://www.last.fm/forum/21717/_/2255064/2

On priorities:

«[...]core features that impact the most users/subscribers [will be] prioritised first»
https://getsatisfaction.com/lastfm/topics/further-updates

General on time horizon:

Some features are probably months away from being reintroduced:

I suppose some features are more time-consuming than others. In four weeks they have crossed seven items off the to-do list.

Exactly. Loving tracks, for example, took them only a few days to do. Deleting scrobbles ditto. I suppose manipulating images might be one of the most time-consuming features. We shall see. But I'm pretty sure the site will be 90% functional by the end of the year. Also, we don't know how many features will be part of the upcoming update.

Loving tracks, for example, doesn't work, and I'm not the only one to report that. Deleting scrobbles works for me, but not deleting shouts! And many more tiny annoying problems with things they are supposedly done dealing with...

Don't be a dick and give them a chance. Maybe they won't disappoint this time.

Ehm, I guess saying 'don't be a dick' in English is a bit more offensive than in my native tongue. I wasn't trying to be rude, all I wanted to say is that you should stop being so negative and give them a chance, since you seem to be one of those users who keep bitching about everything on the site.

PS: You don't know me, so don't judge. Everyone who knows me knows I'm an always positive and kind person. So spare me your 'its better they don't bring the groups back because then people like you will go there and call everyone a dick who don't agree with you' bullshit.

Yea, as much I respect you, holland25, that much calling someone "don't be a dick" is not fair nor kind.
I'm much dissapointed by development team, but I will wait until this new patch, if it's really in plans. Maybe it will be the last chance for the last.fm team, I promised my leaving much time ago...
Fuck, I love too much this site.

I cross my fingers to hope that it will be done at least to satisfy most of users, and most of needed things will be back. Don't disappoint me this time, Last.fm!

Same here. I'm just patiently waiting for my favourite features to make a comeback. As of now, I'm glad I can delete a scrobble.

You're welcome. I just don't understand how constant bitching and complaining would solve anything. Sure, people can be unhappy about the new site, but why repeat the same shit over and over? It's useless.

Repeating and repeating just because they seem and they do not listen to us ... They just think about MONEY and users are nothing,  didn't you, yet, understood this ?
It's a shame in all ways.

Users are everything. Where do you think the data comes from? It's virtually all user generated. Where do you think the money comes from? The magical money tree? Users click ads. Users add the data that that allows them to give us a free service by providing it for a fee to commercial websites. Users provide the basis for everything they do.

You can't have money without users, so to say users are nothing at best shows a fatal misunderstanding of how business works, and at worst is just plain silliness.

Yeah they've made some mistakes. But let's not get all ridiculous conspiracy theory here.

Actually, yeah, I agree with the beta thing. They really should have waited until it's finished. But knowing they didn't, we just need to wait.

I want events back. I can wait for everything else for however long it takes, but adding/rsvp'ing to events was one of the main reasons I use this site. It's been my gig calender for the past decade and I have a lot of gigs backlogged already...

Same here, I just keep waiting and waiting... Don't know, when they going to do that. Also for my location all existing events are disappearing every evening.
Started to use https://www.songkick.com instead of last.fm.

I've started looking at songkick as well, but the anti-social media feel to it makes me want to cry.  Fingers crossed events come back to last.fm :((

Very soon always, so far, meant 3-4 days. Hopefully it's not the only update for this week.

I want more than 5 artists pictures. What's the problem to give choice between 5, 8 or 10 pictures?
