One of my most scrobbled artists unfortunately has the same name as another artist and the photo for the latter shows up on my profile which is soooo annoying. Please fix this.

There is a hint for those who listen to digital files. You can use Discogs database to find out which number it attributes to the band you listen to. Go into the file tags and write down the number next to the name. Problem solved!

OK. I have to give an example. There are multiple artists with the same name but you want to have only one marked in your personal library. Make sure you have an mp3 of the song by the artist. Go to Discogs, and if the artist is there, it must have a number after its name. Then you wite down the number in the proper field of your mp3 next to the artist name. Listen to the song, scrobble it, and it will make a separate page for the desired artist. Say, there are several bands named Dream. You want to keep the record of only one. You find the artist that you listen to to bear number 8 on Discogs. You write down “Dream (8)” in your file and listen to it. Easy.

As He's dead, Jim said, it would make more mess than help. We already have albums tagged as an artist, and artist pages with odd symbols standing by their names. We don't more incorrect artist pages.

Well, it can’t be more horrible than everything else. Last.fm is already messed beyond recognition. You have, for example, Taras with the wiki page mentioning “Danish girl punk/rock band” and “Canadian musician/producer”. However, the users listen only to the Russian rapper with the same name in the Latin script. Ridiculous!

Yes, it's already messed up. But creating more separate pages would result in having more job for the Administration. They would have to import a catalog for their tracks, albums and the like. It would be simpler to leave as it is and hope that once when all the tests and minor problems they have with a newer design are done; they will be able to create separate pages for each performer.
