Why are albums disappearing from artists' album pages?

Not sure how widespread this is, but I've noticed a couple of artists with releases that were previously on their catalogue album pages have suddenly disappeared. If I were to hazard a guess, it looks like maybe you've changed the priorities for the catalogue sources you use - it appears Amazon and iTunes formatting has taken precedence over MusicBrainz / Spotify...?

Anyway, you may already be aware of this but I thought I'd post about it, just in case. The artists I've noticed this has happened to so far are Kelli-Leigh and Mya, but I'm sure there are others (which other people may want to link).

Which albums are missing?

It usually means the catalogue hasn't imported its tracklist for that specific version of the album title (and there are many reasons why this might be).

The first one was February 23rd, the other two were both April 6th.

As I say, they did appear on previous builds of the database so it's odd that they've since disappeared.

Here's another album I've entered on MusicBrainz but seems to be failing to import:

I see the same problem with realy a lot of songs that were previously on their catalogue album pages have suddenly disappeared! All songs that i see are regular songs from the albums!
Example: https://www.last.fm/de/music/36+Crazyfists/Time+and+Trauma
https://www.last.fm/de/music/36+Crazyfists/Time+and+Trauma+(Deluxe)
The lost songs are Sorrow Sings and Slivers!
here you can see it at musicbrainz:

I've also noticed that random tracks have also disappeared from a tracklist. e.g.

- Chain Reaction which should/was on the catalogue page for Eaten Alive / Eaten Alive (Expanded Edition).
- Change of Heart which should/was on the catalogue page for The Force Behind the Power.
- Chocolate, Slow, Someday which should/were on the catalogue page for Body Language.

There are quite a few from Kylie's discography that seem to have disappeared, in fact. Also, my earlier album examples, Mya's album has now appeared but the Kelli-Leigh albums and Sarah Darling one haven't.

Does anybody know where I can report this issue? LFM seems to start kicking tracks from tracklists lately. Example: https://www.last.fm/music/Testament/The+Ritual The running time is one hour, not 48 minutes!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Why do album tracklists keep changing?.

I know that Last.fm pulls album/track info from a bunch of places, but why do they change so often? Why can't they just be decided based on what's most known? I understand if it was for recently released albums/tracks but this is happening with albums up to 10 years old. Why?

The tracks from Utada Hikaru's 2008 album "HEART STATION" keep disappearing and when it's not disappearing, it's almost constantly changing. It's really frustrating. This album is 10 years old, why is the tracklist being messed with?

I've just noticed a bunch of Tina Arena tracks have also disappeared from their official albums:
- Chains, Show Me Heaven, and Sorrento Moon (I Remember) from Don't Ask.
- Soul Mate #9 and Something's Gotta Change from Just Me.
- If I Was a River, Whistle Down the Wind, and No Shame from In Deep.
- Downtown and Wouldn't It Be Good from Songs of Love & Loss 2.
- So Far Away from Songs of Love & Loss.

There may be others, and some of the above examples do appear in other album tracklistings, but the ones above have disappeared from their original studio albums (rather than compilations).

I see the last 2 or 3 days in my library realy a lot of songs where also disappeared from their official albums!
The songs have no playersymbol and no titlelenght! All songs are regular songs from official albums!
Maybe i see 30 - 40 albums where the songs disappeared from their official albums, and i think thats not all songs! This is a big mistake in the last.fm catalogue!

Yes, I have noticed this. Not with whole albums, just songs. Example: Gojira's "Mouth of Kala" is no longer on either the original album "L'enfant Sauvage" or the special edition of said album. I noticed it with other songs as well by different artists, but can't remember them at present.

The latest album of an alternative rock group, Stone Temple Pilots doesn't have a tracklist. It is the second consecutive self-titled album by the band and was released on March 16, 2018.
