Wrong autocorrection of album tracks

The album S/W by Second Woman has correctly named tracks on Musicbrainz and Lastfm, however when I scrobble many of the tracks, my track names are autocorrected to incorrect names, e.g.

////\ autocorrects to ////\\
////\\ autocorrects to ////\\\\
////\\\ autocorrects to ////\\\\\\ (doesn't even exist on the album)
////\\\\ autocorrects to ////\\\\\\\\ (also doesn't exist)
////\\\\\/ autocorrects to ////\\\\\\\\/ (also doesn't exist)

Is there any chance this will ever be fixed? Just doesn't make sense where Last.fm is pulling these imaginary track names from that don't match Musicbrainz, and then erroneously autocorrecting my correct track names.

It's not possible to change autocorrections at this time, as discussed in this article.  However, I'm not totally sure yet if that's the cause of this problem, or if it's just the website getting confused with the track titles and not correctly escaping the various combinations of forward and backslash characters.   I'm going to run this past the team to investigate.

One other thing, which client are you using to scrobble with?  I'm listening to this album on Spotify, and it seems to be scrobbling normally for me.

Thanks for looking into this. I'm using iTunes 12.6.2 and Lastfm Scrobbler 2.1.37 on macOS 10.12.6

It seems to be an issue with the mac version of the Last.fm client.  I've raised this with our development team, but in the meantime you might have to scrobble this album manually, or consider using a different itunes scrobbling plugin (e.g. Silicio)

@Jon I've been waiting for a year to correctly scrobble a track in this album https://www.last.fm/music/Baustelle/L%27amore+e+la+violenza as you can check on spotify and musicbrainz, the track on this album is "La Vita", but once scrobbled LastFm autocorrects in "La Vita Va" (which was a DIFFERENT SONG from another album of the same band).
I also tried to manually scrobble with Universal Scrobble - no way.
I've been searching for a form here in the forum where to insert wrong tracks - didn't find.
Do I just have to avoid to scrobble that track?

Hi dis0rder, we can't fix corrections like that at the moment, but once we can we can remove it. However, you definitely can keep scrobbling it, and when we are able to fix it all of your scrobbles will automatically correct, so don't worry about listening at the moment!

thanks, that's a (half) good news. but if two different tracks are "merged" in the meantime, I can't see at the moment their separate stats... (and same for other mis-corrected tracks). and this "moment" is just over an year so far... I hope we won't have to wait other years..

This will be partially fixed when we deploy the scrobble db (next few months, pending testing), and then fully fixed when we're able to remove the track correction (later this year).  I can actually show you the difference the new scrobble db will make, as we have this running in our development environment for staff accounts.

Just now I scrobbled 3 tracks as La Vita, and 3 tracks as La Vita Va, using the universal scrobbler.  I have auto-corrections turned off in my account settings.

This is what it looks like on last.fm using the current db:

Even though I have auto-corrections turned off, it's still correcting to La vita va, which is totally wrong.

This is what it looks like on the new system:

Which is what you'd expect with corrections turned off, right?  Note that it'll still be wrong if I turn corrections on, because like I said the track correction itself can't be removed yet.

Now, what about the library?

Live site / old db:

That's wrong because the two tracks have been counted as one, even though corrections have been turned off in my settings.

New db:

The site now respect my corrections setting, and the chart is split into two tracks.  Note that the album art is wrong on this page (and this page only) because the track correction is still in place in the catalogue (that's a slightly different issue).  Once the correction is removed, it'll show the cover from L'amore e la violenza.

cool! of course this was an example (and a particular case of merging of two different tracks from the same artist with similar titles), but there are other tracks badly autocorrected at the moment... so, if I keep my autocorrection turned off in the settings, I can scrobble these two different tracks and in a few months they should be counted as separate scrobblings (and so, other tracks mis-corrected by Lastfm in ther site will become correct... as long as I use now the same correct tags that Lastfm will use) :)

It looks neat; I can't wait to see this in action.
