EMPLOYEE0I like that idea a lot! Yes, I have thought about it before, but I'm not sure why I didn't put it higher on my priority list.
How would this sound to you: Somewhere in the top header portion of the team page like the one you linked to, I include all that information about the team. Since people already have a chance to add twitter accounts/websites to a team, I can just stick that information up there. For instance, on the site http://www.cbssports.com/nba/teams/pa... they have the team ranking in the upper right, but instead I can put the twitter accounts and team homepage there for easier accessibility.
Secondly, I think it would be good for users to be able to add a team logo.
I gotta get working on this!
EMPLOYEE0I added the website and twitter accounts right at the top of the pages for each team. Let me know if you'd like me to do more with it.
Eventually I'll get around to user submitted photos so people can add team logos. There are a bunch more usability things I need to clean up first so it is easier for people to navigate the site and discover content they didn't know existed.
