I’m upset

I cannot contact levis about a defective pair of jeans...

I paid $36.00 for a pair of jeans for my son. After only wearing and washing them once the jeans have worn a hole on the upper part of his thigh. This is not from falling or scraping himself up. On the knees perhaps but not on his upper thigh! For a product that is supposed to be superior in quality I find this unacceptable. Obviously I cannot return them to the store since they were worn, even if only once, and the tags were removed. I cannot find a way to contact levis themselves to express my opinion. Does anyone know of a way to contact them?

  • Interesting, I have always had, at least, a pair of 501s.
    I grabbed 2 pairs from a store shelf recently. One of the pairs only has 4 buttons on the fly. Prior to this, i had issues with a couple pairs of 505's. I usually don't complain and don't even want to have to pay or take the time to ship the crap back. 4 buttons on my 501's...ah i think that's a major defect and annoying as ...bleep...

    I am really sorry to hear about your 501's, this is not the experience we want our customers to have with our products. Have you attempted returning the jeans to the retailer your purchased them from? If not, that may be the easiest route for you. Otherwise, I would encourage you to contact our Customer Support Team so they can help replace your jeans, call 1-800-USA-Levi and press #3.

  • i've just purchased 3 pairs of 501 from macey's on 7/23/2010 i washed them before i wear them and seems like they shrunk down two sizes i wear 42w 30l. i cant even botton them up. this is not fair,my money is hard earned.i have other 501's the same size and they are fine.someone please help me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thank you for the message. I recommend you FIRST bring the jeans back to the store of purchase for an exchange. If that doesn't work, please call our call center at 1-800-USA-LEVI and press 3 and one of our reps can help you with your problem.

    Here's some info for you and anyone else reading this: The 501's come in "Shrink-to-Fit" and Pre-Shrunk. The Shrink-to-Fit 501's normally shrink two sizes while the Pre-Shrunk do not shrink very much.

  • I have been buying 501's for over 25 years and am exclusively a Levi jean wearer, however over the last few years, I have noticed the quality and consistency has diminished to the point of making me scream. Like Cornell, I notice certain Pre-shrunk jeans shrink more than others, I also notice that even though I buy the same size and same color, the jeans are not cut the same, especially if they are made in a different country, I mean drastically different to the point of not fitting, in fact 1 out of 3 are unwearable. The other thing is that when you bought a pair of 501's they lasted for years, literally till the fabric wore thin, now I get blow out seams within a couple of months. I miss proudly made in America, and might begin a search for a new Jeans company, since I now have a stack of unwearable jeans, many in new but washed (unreturnable, tags removed) condition.

    My husband has bought Levis jeans for the past 15 years, but something is going on recently because we ordered jeans online in his size and two pairs did not fit while the other ones in the same size and same order did. Two pairs of the carpenter pants have ripped from the back of the pants all the way down to the back of the leg while my husband was at work and of course there was an audience too. Talk about humiliation, Levi's needs to straighten up their act. We are hard working people and deserve better products for the $$$$ they charge. It sounds to me like they ripped all of us off.

  • My husband used to be a Levi's man, but after some defect issues he moved on to wranglers and has been wearing them for the last 20 years. Last year I finally convinced him to go to an American made brand and told him about how simple your defect policy is....just get the form, mail them in for inspection and they m ay be replaced. So he did it!

    My husband purchased 4 pair or 550 levi's from Macy's about 6 months. On one pair, the upper inseam has a hole. This is his second round of Levi's and the second time he has had this problem. I cannot find the form on line any longer to send them in for defect inspection........You guys are making a liar out of me!

    My son received a pair of Levi’s jeans for Christmas (this past Christmas) and they were a little big when he got them so we just kept them until they fit. As of this month (March 2011) they fit him and he has only worn them twice (after the first wear, they were washed and worn again, yesterday), as of the second time he wore them, he was at school and the tag (the one that’s sewn into the back of the waist) irritated him SO much that it left a mark on his back and his preschool had to have him change pants. He now has a mark on his back that’s scabbing! All from the irritation of a tag! I went online to see if there is anything I can do, but all of the “contact us” option via the website is if you have purchased the jeans from their site, which we didn’t. These are supposed to be a really good brand and I know they were almost $30 jeans, but after two wears he can’t wear them again! And because they were a gift, I don't even know who we can contact about it, but this is just bad workman ship.

    Here's the mark the tag made. And we know it was from the tag because when the school first made him change clothes they said they could see the imprint of the tag on his back and it was all red and irritated.

    i recently purchased a pair of 501 jeans. i tried them on in store and they fit just right. well that same night i washed them and tried them on again at which shrunk so much they dont even fit anymore.. i wear nothing but levi jeans in all the same size obviously, and i am very disappointed that these have shrunk so much. i have read the receipt to see if there was anything i can do to get this straightened out and the receipt states and i quote, "return for "ANY REASON" for a full refund."

    today (04-10-2011) i did just what the receipt said i was capable of doing and the employee at the store told me that i am not able to because i washed them and took the tags off. now that is not the part that made me furious. the part that really boiled my blood was when i talked to the "MANAGER" of the store and pointed out what the receipt said and her response was and i quote again, "the receipt is "WRONG" and "I WILL HAVE THAT RECEIPT FIXED" when i have the chance."

    as you know gas is not cheap and it took me gas to drive to the store to have my problem fixed at which was not resolved at all and got a very rude statement in the process. im very furious right now and also disappointed not only in the service that i have received from an employee at your store company but with the workmanship in the pair of pants i bought. and just to let you know, jeans are not cheap and should be able to last at least a couple of months to years and not just after one wash.

  • My son got a pair of $28 Levi's for his birthday. He wore them three times. I washed them twice, inside out like the label said. This is what happened to the inside lining that hides the adjustable elastic. After the first washing I noticed it had frayed but thought nothing of it. After the second wash the fabric just disintegrated in my fingers. It looked like it had been through an acid bath prior to having been sewn onto the jeans. The fabric is what looks like a cotton twill with sketches of scorpions, bugs & LEVI'S JEANS on it. The rest of the jeans are fine though.
    I live an hour and half from the city. I'm not going to bother taking them back. I think I will just sew another piece of fabric over the existing.
    I just thought someone from Levi's ought to know.
    I really like Levi's and they look so cute on kids.
    I will inspect any future purchases though.

  • I have the EXACT same problem as Chrissy. I just bought a pair of Levis for my daughter. She tried them on at home, they fit, and I removed the tags and washed them so she could wear them.I followed the washing directions. When I began folding them, I noticed three holes and another tiny hole on the thigh area. Is there anything that I can do about this?

  • I have had over 20 pairs of the Levi Carpenters and every single pair has worn a hole in the back pocket right above the red Levi tag, they are my favorite style of jeans, very comfortable, and for the price i pay for the jeans, i would think that the product would out last my other jeans, ive had several pairs of other jeans and have gotten more than 6 months to a year of wear out of them before i see any problems, the Levi's i notice within a couple of times of wearing them they have that hole that wears in them, and then it turns into a bigger hole, and they are unwearable.

  • My husband only wears levi's jeans and has for over 30 years. When he make a purchase he tends to buy 4-5 pairs at a time. He has never had issues until about a year ago when it seemed as if every pair he had purchased were defective. They tend to rip at the edging of the back pocket. He purchased 5-6 pairs back in November 2011 and since then has worn about 3 pairs and all 3 pairs have torn at the edging of the back pocket, the stitching on the pocket frays and some of the belt loops rip off. I understand wear and tear but after only 1-2 washes this is ridiculous. You hear the name Levi's and think of a brand that was rugged and durable with an A-1 quality but now that is to say the least. The price has increased and the quality decreased and that's a shame.

  • I bought three pairs of Levis just a couple of mnths ago and the ALL have holes in them. Two of them have a hole in the knee and one of them had holes in the thigh after one wash and never worn. I commented above about that pair a month ago. they contacted me, but after I responded asking what they needed, I never heard back. Crappy jeans and crappy customer service. I would suggest spreading the word to stop buying Levis.

    I've been wearing Levi's for over 30 years and have typically found that my jeans would last 5-7 years.

    For the past 3 years I've been buying 514s. Love the fit, but the quality is terrible. After only a few wearings the right knee begins showing holes and the same with the cuffs. I'm not doing hard labor while wearing them. Just normal stuff.

    I can even tell the difference between 514s I bought over a year ago and a pair I bought a month ago. Levi's is quickly going down hill.

    I bought a pair of Levis jeans from the Levis store here in Leicester (UK) 4 months ago. I am very disappointed that the zip has broken and he is now unable to wear them.

    Because if the high cost this was the first pair of jeans I had bought and I have to say I expected much more.

    I hear Levis have good customer service and replace faulty goods. Please could you advise me what I should do to get a replacement?

    Seems like the Levi Brand is no more as a friend of mine just today was complaining that two of his Levi 501 have developed holes just below the pockets after on 6 months of casual wearing normally as dress pants as he does not work. He lives in St Arnaud Vic 3478 paid $100 at Myers Department store in Bendigo Victoria Australia. I suggested he return them to the store and ask for a refund as such an expensive pair should last longer than 6 months, If the cost was $5 or $10 then he should expect the jeans to fall apart, but maybe the big stores are buying the cheap versions manufactured by Levi and selling them at 20 times their true value.

    I do suggest Levi remove their normal labels and use a lower grade brand label if they wish to protect their brand but judging by the number of complaints here their might be thousands of others upset but not using the internet to complain and might be telling others direct not to trust the brand into the future.

  • i did FINALLY get my jeans replaced but levis have no quality anymore ! i always buy 30/32 carpeneter jeans but EVERY pair fit differnt !! and the pockets are diff some are shallow some arent ??? i can buy 3 pair of jeans take them home and they are deff lengths ??? whats up with that ??? see if you can get some quality back ??
