Kind of a weird setup. Have a Chamberlain HD930EV with the MyQ logo and then I have the garage panel which is a Liftmaster 880LM,
I have tried both gateways from Chamberlain and Liftmaster with the MyQ app and I can activate serial and create a "Place", however when I go to add the device and hit the Learn button, the garage opener light does flicker like it confirms it learned. BUT I the app (and the website UI) give me a "waiting for device" and then "add device timed out.." error messages.
Any help would be appreciated

Thank you, I found another post regarding using the reset button for the gateway. Tried it this morning and the orange/yellow LED light does come on waiting for add device, but still getting a timeout.

I wasn't going to take my time bother looking for this thread, but it happened to be open in an existing tab in my browser.
I'm sorry but this experience has been terrible. Bought two different versions Chamberlain and Liftmaster gateways, neither one works. Spent over an hour on the phone with Customer Service and they basically walked me through the exact same steps as the website and app (add Place -> add Device), had me try unplugging the opener, then the wired pad, then said maybe the LED lightbulbs could be causing an issue? Bunch of other hoops that I don't even remember.
End result, they stated it was being escalated...
Needless to say, I've returned the gateway. If I could I would remove and return the entire garage system. In this day and age of technology this should not be that big of an issue.
I don't know what the exact problem is, whether its faulty hardware or if they are using a different port blocked by ISP (this would just lead back to a bad design in the code/programming).
End of story... I have returned the hardware (both of them) for a full refund. I have gone another route with moving to Smart Home technology. -
