Can't add LA400 Gate Opener to Internet Gateway

I have a LA400 Gate Opener and have tried adding it to Internet Gateway by both methods listed in the documentation: Learning Button and Reset as stated in the documentation, and neither method work.  Any ideas on what is wrong?

  • Roger, what is the error code that you receive in the app and the behavior of the gate during the add-process? Can you describe in more detail the experience you are having?   • We are not getting an actual error code, we go through the add process following the instructions on the iPhone, hitting Next for each step and when we get to the final screen, it just sits there with Twirling with the text "Waiting for device..."

    To describe what we are doing:

    I am using my iPhone with the app, I hit the + sign to bring up the Add New Device screen, then I choose add to my specific named place; the "select the device you want to add" comes up and I choose Gate Operator, the next screen tells me to find the Reset Button and hit Next, then I get the screen that says to start with door closed and then open it; I then get the last screen that says choose method a) Learn Button or b) Reset button method.  We have tried both several times with no success.

    I am not sure if it is a range issue, since installing the IG last Friday and adding the Garage Door, I often get the message ""No Response, MYQ Server not responding.  Please try again later.  OK"  This is not specific to adding the device, but I get that message in general when trying to open or close the garage door.

    I hope this helps clarify what is happening, please let me know if you have any ideas.

    Also, my IG is located in the rack where the router and access point is installed.  Is there a possibility that I am getting interference from the Apple Extreme?

  • This doesn't seem to be an interference issue. If the gateway is within 300-600 feet of the gate, it should be able to add. I've included a link to one of our FAQ articles on LiftMaster.com.

  • Thanks for the update, I will have to check exactly what model I have as the link you sent says it is only in the 412 and 400DC models, not sure exactly which one is installed as the Builder installed it.
