I have never gotten past the flashing green and blue lights.
On my 2nd 828LM.. first one was from Amazon, second one is from Chamberlain/Liftmaster (as a result of troubleshooting the first one with no success).
Up front, I did by-pass the router and connect the 828LM directly to my modem and got the solid green light which equals success, but obviously can't run it that way. This does suggest that it is something to do with my router or settings. The router I have though does not show up in the non-compatible list. I have had zero issues with any of my other connected smart or otherwise devices.
I have done soft and hard resets, tried different ports on the router all without any success or change in the flashing green and blue lights.
I can sorta see the internet gateway connected in my connected devices... it doesn't appear on the initial screen but only after I go into 'access control'. So I was able to grab the MAC address and assign a static IP to the 828LM so that I could open up the ports for it. However, I am not sure I am doing it correctly.
Here is what I have found and been provided in terms of ports that need to be open (so that the 828LM can connect with the appropriate liftmaster servers).
TCP/UDP port 53 open (DNS)
Inbound and outbound UDP port 80 open - only for Wi-Fi product made before Sept. 1, 2015
Inbound and outbound TCP/UDP port 2165 open - only for Wi-Fi product made before Sept. 1, 2015
Inbound and outbound /TCP port 8883 open.
I am a little perplexed by the open ports as a solution as it is my understanding that the green and blue lights flashing means that the gateway is not connecting to the router. but then again, it sorta is, as I can see it on my Access Control list
For these steps I am doing them all in the port forwarding/triggering section of Advanced->Advanced Setup->Port Forwarding. Is this right? I am confused by the port 53 with the DNS in ( ). What does that mean? Are different steps needed?
Under LAN Setup I have RIP direction set to <both> and have gone through the various RIP versions with no luck or change.
Wireless security is set as suggested (not mixed).
I have also assigned a static channel... 11... but with no luck.
My calls to Liftmaster/Chamberlain have mostly been good with well intentioned folks.
I have attempted to contact Netgear, but they want me to pay for the contact.
I also bought 2 888LM Wall Mount Controls.... so I could make my
Liftmaster 3800 'Smart' enabled. I am thinking of just returning it
all... but really want this to work.

Can't connect 828LM to my Netgear Nighthawk X6/R8000 - Flashing green and blue

My old LM hub is smart-enabled through Alex and Apple Home Control. Whatever model my Gateway is, (hardwired) it works perfectly with Amazon Alexa and the HomeBridge server I have configured. Siri voice control works well

@Burt I am not sure your solution will work for me given my model of LM. Can you share model numbers of your set up.
The Liftmasters (2) I have are 10 year old models... the 3800. Which required me to update both the control panels to the 888LM so that I can connect, monitor, open/close my garage doors via the MyQ app with the required 828LM Internet Gateway of course.
@TheCommunity I am thinking I am needing some tips on my router settings... am I missing any steps with the opening of ports? I am comfortable messing around inside the router admin page, but am by no means a network expert. So if some instructions are give, assume I know nothing.
Thanks for the help. -

UPDATE: I figured out with the help of Netgear Customer Service ($80 fee - but I get unlimited support for 6 months) that the issue was with my security camera DVR... disconnect it and the Liftmaster Internet Gateway connects immediately. Connect my security DVR and the Internet Gateway disconnects immediately and goes back to flashing green and blue. The issue connecting to the router had nothing to do with opening ports, or setting specific channels. I currently have the 828LM connected over my camera's DVR, and was able to set it up without issue. It works perfectly so far. Next step will be to contact Netgear again or the camera manufacturer to see about isolating my security camera DVR so I can have both connected without issue. Stay tuned!

UPDATE: Spent at least 7 hours on the phone with Netgear and EZVIZ (POE security camera manufacturer). We could not resolve the conflict... they suggested that due to the lack of options or visibility inside of the Internet Gateway technology, that the issue or conflict was caused by the Internet Gateway itself. Will be looking at getting the MyQ Home Bridge, to replace the Internet Gateway and resolve the conflict on my network.

Don,
It sounds like the webcam system is protocol or port flooding your LAN/router, thus interfering with other LAN/router clients. In other words, the webcam system is not playing nice, not following standards.-
Thanks Jim for the comment. What is odd is that everything else on my network (wired and wireless) works just fine. Any suggestions to fix? I am waiting for my new MyQ Home Bridge to arrive. I am holding out hope that this will resolve the issue.

53 is the port use for Domain Name System. Looking up a url on a DNS server to resolve to the IP address.
I am wondering if there is a port contention issue with the 828LM and the DVR? Can you create a vlan on your router and put the 828LM on it by itself?

Thanks for the suggestion Sir MAK.

Bobby, can I have a tech support agent contact you at the email address associated with your LiftMaster MyQ Community account? Lauren

I actually found a work around to fix the issue. My set up is as follows. Comcast modem to asus onhub router to 8 port switch to another router that I connected the myq gateway to. I left my ezviz camera system plugged into my 8 port switch and they are no longer fighting each other.

UPDATE: I received my MyQ Home Bridge a few days ago, hooked it up, disconnected the internet gateway, and reconnected the EZVIZ system and everything now works perfectly together without the need of a secondary router or switch or some funky setup or any manipulation of router settings. I can now remotely monitor and activate my garage door openers, as well as remote view my security camera system. And for those interested, the $80 Netgear service fee was refunded to me as a result of Netgear not being able to resolve the issue through their networking configuration... so not to bad on their end either. EZVIZ or their equipment on the other hand were not equipped to handle more "complex" networking arrangements. While this whole experience has been quite frustrating, I am super pleased with Chamberlain/Liftmaster's commitment to getting it right. I never felt pawned off. This forum has been great too. Thank you!
