ford remote programming to liftmaster 8165

I have a 2013 Ford Expedition.  Had no trouble programming my in-car built-in remote to my older Liftmaster opener, but my new Liftmaster 8165 does not want to program my in-car remote. I have reprogrammed the car to my other older Liftmaster (door #2) and it still works fine, but cannot get the 8165 to program despite following the exact same procedures as the old Liftmaster.  Is there some new digital code scheme that does not work well with Ford?

George - I apologize that you are having a problem programming your vehicle. Depending on what you have in your car, HomeLink (3 buttons and 1 LED) or Lear (3 buttons and 3 LEDs) you will need a compatibility bridge to program your Ford.

HomeLink has updated their code to ensure compatibility with the new line of Chamberlain openers with MyQ. However, vehicles that do not have the latest version of HomeLink will need a HomeLink Compatibility Bridge to program your vehicle to your new Chamberlain opener.

Lear does require a Lear Compatibility Bridge for all Security +2.0 openers. We do have the part you need available here to order for both. Our phone number is 1-800-528-9131.
