In-app Timers
Please add this functionality ASAP before I have to pull out my MyQ light switches and put in "dumb" programmable timers instead!!
If you really want to impress everyone, please include time based timers as well as "sunrise" and "sunset" timers by time zone.

Thank you for the feedback about the timer. We do have scheduling functionality on our roadmap, so please stay tuned for a future update with these features.

Timer functions are critical. Can we have a date as to when this features will be available. I am thinking of converting all my switches to wemo if it's not going to happen in the near future. Thanks much

Please let us know when this timer functionaliry will come up very interested

5 months since last posting, but nothing new. I am considering purchase but a timed lighting feature is very critical to my needs. I have that now with another much older technology and will not consider giving it up. This feature is a deal-breaker if it remains unavailable.

Nothing. It's like it disappeared into a black hole.
I guess it's time to give up on MyQ and look for something else hat can handle such basic functionality. -

This is a simple addition to the code base. I wonder why this isn't a priority for LiftMaster? If LiftMaster needs a few people to help out with the code I know a few people who can help.

Glad to see this post - I just installed the switches in a new garage along with my new garage opener - I wanted one system. I fully expected I could schedule the lights - and so I am really disappointed that I can't. Alert rules are pretty useless for lights. And now I see this has been out there for a year? Pls provide update on timers for the roadmap, i hope I didn't just waste $$ on lightswitches. Thanks!

We are still looking into this. I do not have a timeline at this point.

Hi Dawn,
Could you check to see if myQ open the API or has plans to open the API to SmartThings? It possible this could solve your problems as it seems myQ is busy internally and no new features - however basic they may be - are not being added. Look into SmartThings. If you need a contact name or email let me know - I know the founders of this product personally - they are literally friends of mine and have built an API platform for my business. I'm not asking you to break down walls just a small encrypted hole for SmartThings to communicate with myQ - this would take a ton of wants and must haves off the myQ plate.
I am more than happy to discuss this with you via phone.

I'm not saying this to be a pain in the butt - I really think I can help make a good product better.

yeah i think i inquired about this about 2 years ago and there wasnt a time table given then. the delay was a big reason why i switched to the competitor for subsequent switches. the competitors do time programs, timers, on and off based on sunrise/sunset, etc. liftmaster is behind on this and i still wish my porch light powered by the liftmaster switch would have similar features. .
-
-
Can anyone recommend an alternative? We've really enjoyed the myq system and have added 4 myq devices. But they're not cheap, and I don't want to invest anymore in a sinking ship.
-
-
I am also waiting for the on/off/sunset/sunrise. Wemo is an alternate and can be controlled with IFTTT for some neat features. EX turn the wemo light on if the garage door is left open. (it checks your e-mail for notification from myq.)
Other note it would be great if I could control my myq lights with IFTTT then I would be able to write a script that would turn my myq on or off whenever. -

Wow...crazy! I almost hit "buy" on a number of the light switches, assuming they would be able to be programmed. So, I hit Cancel instead, and will be looking for other options. Glad I googled this, as I assumed scheduling would be part of basic functionality.
Good Luck Liftmaster! -

Since i already installed the switch and didnt want to replace it with a wemo, i ended up adding a homebrite bluetooth controlled and programmable led bulb for about $15 on a porch fixture that is controlled by the myq switch.
the feit homebrite doesnt function as nice as a wemo but does what im looking for. basically a programmed on and off....it does lack the dusk dawn effect that adjusts w/ the season like the wemo does. would i buy the myq switch again? absolutely not!! -
-
Ill agree with everything said here. I'll probably end up removing all the switches and replacing them with Wemo devices if MyQ can't get their act together.

A year ago we had this comment from MyQ Community Official Rep:
"Thank you for the feedback about the timer. We do have scheduling functionality on our roadmap, so please stay tuned for a future update with these features."
So many other options are now available and yet no action from MyQ. It impacts the image of LiftMaster, which has been outstanding until this unexplainable omission of basic needs of buyers. I had a competing company's garage door opener removed in order to put up the best in the business. I am now beginning to wonder about the wisdom of my decision. -

I get the impression that Lift Master is not developing this part of the brand anymore. Besides, other technologies have lapped LM and are far more functional.
I made the jump to "Wink" home automation. It is compatible with the garage door's MyQ, but the switches are not.-
Huh. Thanks Joe - I'll have to dig around a bit more but I think if I swap out two WeMo light switches (plugs really) Wink appears to work with more of my Smart Home items. Swap out the extremely limiting MyQ light switch in my garage (sell it on eBay and pray the buyer won't search this Community) and I think I will be happier with my collection of products. Too bad LiftMaster isn't being responsive. I literally have a meeting this week with the company who built the App for them. They are right down the street from me - just found this out when the new CEO (a friend of a friend) took over and it was written up in our local newspaper. Friends of mine built and sold SmartThings to Samsung - but I think Wink might work better for me.
