Is my xfinity comcast router (Cisco) compatible?
Is my Xfinity Comcast router (Cisco) compatible with the Liftmaster 828LM Garage Door Opener Internet Gateway? Is there any pitfalls I should know about?

I don't see why it wouldn't be a router is a router you just have to get the 828lm and plug it into usb on the router. It only controls the door so if you want to control an outside light you should get the 823 lm also. I just saw that works great

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply! I think I'll go with your suggestion of the 823 lm. So excited to get this set up.

You still need the 8:28 LM hub to use the 823 lm. Look at it this way if they don't work you could always send them back.

I figured I needed both, thank you for confirming that. Can't hurt to give it a try. Thanks again!

The lack of compatibility issue you are concerned about does not really apply here. Unless you have the Ethernet ports on your Comcast router disabled, the Internet gateway should work without any problem. The MyQ gateway is not a wifi device. It has to be physically connected to the router with an Ethernet cable. If you are having problems accessing your MyQ devices, you need to make sure you have your Internet gateway registered/linked with your account. That is not explained in the quickstart guide. It is only stated In the user guide.

Thank you for tip! I'll make sure it's registered.

Yes I stand corrected it is an Ethernet connection. Not a USB connection. your router should have plenty of available Eithernet connections on it
