Liftmaster 823LM Stops Working
I purchased 2 of the 823's to replace the standard light switches in my garage so I can control them remotely. When I first installed them, one did not work at all and the other took a few minutes before it seemed to start working fine. The one that began to work synced up fine to the MyQ app and all the car transmitters and worked fine with all of them that evening. The next day, suddenly it does not work at all either by the switch directly or any other method. I had an electrician friend of mine check the wiring and it is all code and proper voltage, so something odd is happening with these switches. Now I need two replacements.

Hi Todd F, happy to help. Can I have someone from our tech support team reach out to via the email address associated with this account? Chuck

Jim December 01, 2017 01:08The switches need a reliable ground connection, switch's green wire. I suspect that ground is not connected or it is a poor connection.EditDeleteRemove

Todd F December 13, 2017 04:00Jim, appreciate the input but the ground is rock solid reliable. I recently got the two replacements from Liftmaster and installed them earlier this evening and after turning the breaker on, the lights came on. I left them on for about 90 minutes, then tested the switches on both circuits and they work fine...for now. I then turned them back on again and have left them on for the past 2 hours. I am going to bed in an hour and will turn them off then. The real test is will they still be working in the morning.EditDeleteRemove
