I’m frustrated

Locked out of application after changing password on web site

Today, I changed my password (but not my passcode) on the web site. I do this every so often on every web site I frequent. That result in four "error 205 incorrect" password errors in the iPhone LiftMaster MyQ application, followed by an error 207 "The user is locked out" error. At no point during this process did the app ask me for the updated password, just for my passcode.

How do I fix this issue? And more to the point, why wouldn't LiftMaster's iPhone application simply prompt for the new password after it gets changed on the web site?

  • My guess is you will have to go through the setup process again starting with setup.myqdevice.com.

  • why wouldn't LiftMaster's iPhone application simply prompt for the new password after it gets changed on the web site? - The MyQ app does not know that you changed your MyQ account password using the MyQ website.  When the app attempts to log into your MyQ account with your previous password (the only password the app knows), log in fails (as it should).  After a few attempts, the app's log in screen will appear, where you will need to enter the MyQ account email address and your new password for the MyQ account.  Now you can have the app save the password with a Passcode.  If you use the MyQ app to change to your password, this fault would not occur.
