For as long as I there as been MyQ, developers have been asking for access to the API. LiftMaster and it's parent company, Chamberlain, have continued to ignore the requests of developers.
In return, developers have built their own API from information gained by hacking, debugging and disassembling the mobile applications. They have posted information to GitHub, Bitbucket and personal websites in great detail.
Now, Chamberlain and LiftMaster can continue to ignore the requests and let this information, good and bad, continue to propagate across thousands of websites. Or Chamberlain can embrace developers and provide an authorized developer program, develop OAuth2 security to protect consumers and insure the integrity of MyQ.
Either way, developers are smart and they will continue to keep up with all changes that are made.
Please, give this some thought and help MyQ integration with Smart Home Control and Smart Home Automation.

I would love to see this too. In the meantime, I'm trying to leverage IFTTT to extend MyQ usefulness using the IFTTT Maker Channel and some Python coding on a Raspberry Pi. Still a work in progress.

Chuck,
Thank you for the replay.
As a followup, and a response to so many asking for additional account logins, OAuth2 would solve a lot of concerns. It will allow the ability to give access to others without having the email and password, and it will increase security for those that use third-party applications. -

Gary, thank you for the additional info. I will pass this along to executives and marketing. Chuck

I'm onboard here too - I work for IBM and am in charge of our IoT Developer Ecosystem. From personal experience, the companies who provide open RESTful APIs are viewed as industry thought leaders and immediately create a large ecosystem. You can use this then to expand into new business models while also supporting the hacker / maker / startup community. You'll quickly find yourselves dominating your segment of the industry if you have a large, robust and loyal developer community.

Hummm. Oksy
What is the attitude of the leadership team as to making the API available to developers? -
-
Gary, there are currently no plans to open the API. Lauren

And thus grows the groups that hack the MyQ application and LM Gateway.
This is why Chamberlain has lost control of their own products. -
