New Liftmaster wifi-enabled opener: how to connect to Homekit?
I just had a new (08/17 manufacture date) Liftmaster garage door with MyQ 2.0 installed. It works fine with the Liftmaster app. Your page on Homekit compatibility seems to state that it should also link to Homekit (without needing to purchase the additional hub), and the app shows all my other Homekit information. But there is no Homekit sticker, and no 8-digit Homekit serial number that I can enter so that Homekit knows about the garage door opener. How do I link the garage door to Homekit?

I also had a new LM installed a couple of months ago. My cars 2002 & 2009 Highlanders) have the home link installed by Toyota. I was told that because my cars are older, and do not have a digital signal, I would have to pair them to a LM converter transmitter, who would the transmit my cars signal as a digital signal to the LM. Worked great, but did shorten the range of my opener. Hope this reply helps... PhilR

David August 31, 2017 12:21Thanks, but your reply is about something else. Homekit is Apple's home control system.EditDeleteRemove

David, I am in the same situation and have the same question. I just posted the question before seeing yours. Did you ever determine whether or not you can use HomeKit and Siri without having to add the additional hub?

Hi Mark, if you want a HomeKit compatible garage door opener, you will need to obtain the MyQ Home Bridge. All of our openers need the MyQ Home Bridge. Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions. Chuck

Disappointing response regarding the need to buy another accessory in order to enable Homekit functionality. I recently purchased two Liftmaster 8550W garage door openers. Internet-connected garage door openers with an "Accessory Setup Code" field on them that is blank. Seems like a shameless up-sell tactic to require another appliance to enable Homekit integration. Not buying it.
