I'm new here and to home automation. Last week I installed my first device, an Ecobee3 thermostat and I love it. The MyQ gateway and wall controller is the second device, which I installed today and so far it's working as expected. It took me longer to take it all of the packaging than it did to install it and get it working.
Since I have a compatible Craftsman opener, the wall controller was exactly the same fitment, one screw, two wires, done. The gateway was a snap, just plug it into my router with the supplied LAN cable and power it up, seconds later a steady green light. It took me two or three tries to pair the gateway to the wall controller after signing in online, but once it was paired, all worked fine.
Since I'm new, I've been discovering newer things like IFTTT and I hope MyQ will be compatible with that soon. IFTTT is great and works well with my Ecobee except for geofencing, which I haven't gotten to work yet, but that's not for this topic.
I hope I don't have any problems like others have reported, but time will tell. If I do have problems, I will post here right away.
FYI, I did not purchase the Liftmaster Kit, I bought the Liftmaster gateway and wall controller separately from an Amazon garage door dealer and save about $30 over the kit price (hope it's okay to say that here?).

- even if I do - it's a clunky work around.
