Official API
Is there any official API or protocol available for third party integration to the MyQ gateway?

Very disappointed by this. Typically companies are either hiding something or simply not willing to share. having a documented published and maintained API is critical today. Especially for homeowners and smaller VAR's trying to create their own customized solutions. I will replace my openers and recommend another brand to the builders I work with weekly. ToU should not be this restrictive.
It would be one thing if your company was on the cutting edge of home automation...but you're simply not. No integration with Amazon...bare minimum with Wink...zero for IFTTT...your company is not thinking clearly and openly about this. You could have hundreds of people developing new ideas is you simply opened up a little bit. Publish the API for people willing to register with appropriate non-restrictive ToU's -
I'm disappointed by this. Count me as an owner who would like to see an open API and a modification to the ToU accordingly.

I am not sure which third-parties you refer to, but I do know that Control4 Automation Systems has a driver for MyQ and it works very well. Depending on the vendor you can probably check with them directly to find out if they have something. For instance, there is a cost that I pay for the C4 driver, but it is a one-time cost. Hope this helps

Thanks Roger for the reply, I am looking for the API, so that I can create my own programming from any device, such as Raspberry Pi, Python on a PC, AMX, or any third party device.

Hello, Taz. We do not have an open API and using unapproved third party programs would break our Terms of Use. We do have other platforms on the roadmap that we are integrating with. Those will become available in the near future, and we will notify our users when they do.
Roger, currently the Control4 driver is not support and are not an official partner. We are looking to work with them. Just some information for all of our users. Thanks for helping Taz! Great to see the community engage with each other.- view 1 more comment

Please do work directly with Control4 to link MyQ app.

I would also prefer an open API so that I can build a home dashboard and use some intelligent automation to control the door along with the rest of my home. The maker / hacker community loves this kind of thing.

"We do not have an open API and using unapproved third party"
In the middle of a huge iot project at home, garage door kaput, you are out. Pathetic attitude given what's coming.-
Liftmaster will go down as one of the few really useful IoT device companies that failed because they refused to react fast enough. I even offered to provide free services too. Companies like this often get scared that they will muck with their business model by opening things up where they become a dumb endpoint that can be replaced with anything. But companies that innovate in advance are always thought of first. I have referred several people away from this garage door opener already and will be happy to continue doing so until Liftmaster gets their priorities in order.
This post was a year ago for goodness sakes. -

Here's another vote for MyQ app to work directly with Control4.

Really disappointed in this attitude. You will get so much more business by creating a developer ecosystem than trying to keep this all proprietary. A simple REST API will go a long way to making you an industry leader.

+1 to a device level API. Those that want to integrate with your device don't necessarily need the MyQ service or need to agree to its API. With access to the device API we would be able to bypass MyQ until you are ready to support 3rd party integration. Doing neither causes your customers to loose trust in your product.
