Change in reply by Terry Quinn to
Hmmm. I just went in and changed my "2 Small Garage Door " to "3 Small Garage Door" and it jumped to the other (incorrect) side of my "2 Large Garage Door" icon. Then I changed it to "2 Small Garage Door" and it stayed in the same place (incorrect for what I want, but still correct if the position is being controlled alphabetically). Then I changed it to "1 Small Garage Door" and it jumped to the other side of the "2 Large Garage Door" icon (correct location). And it held overnight. I just turned the phone off completely, rebooted it, and it is still on the correct side.

In my first post, I described my phone hardware. What are you guys using? Maybe that is the difference.

tq

.

Change in reply by Terry Quinn to
I am running the Liftmaster MyQ app on a Motorola Droid Maxx with the Android operating system. I installed two garage door openers, one for a small (9ft) door and one a large (16 ft) door. The small door is on the left when you look at them physically from the outside, and the large one is on the right. When I installed them in the app, the door icons were reversed, with the small door icon on the right, and large on the left.

I called tech support, and he checked around and said nothing could be done to change their position within the app display itself. I asked if I were to uninstall the internet connection to the openers, and reinstall them in the opposite order of installation, might that switch them?. He said to give it a try. I did so, and it still showed the small on the right, large on the left.

My two doors are named simply "Large Garage Door" and "Small Garage Door"

When they didn't change, I wondered if their position of the icon in the app was just based on an alphabetical sort of the first character of its name. So without uninstalling and reinstalling, I simply went into the app, hit the gear icon, and changed the two names by adding a single digit and space to the front of the names. That fixed the problem. Now they display in the order I want them to: "1 Small Garage Door" and "2 Large Garage Door"

I was talking to tech anyway, and they said that nobody had ever thought of trying that, and he made a note to get that communicated to their tech staff.

I saw someone write about how they had tried to change the names to change their icon's positions, but they didn't change. But so far mine is staying where I want them.
.
