We are considering buying the MyQ retrofit package, MYQPCK. I have three questions.
Will it work if the Internet router is about 120 ft from the wall control, with several walls along the way? If not, would it work with a wireless range extender that could be out about 60 ft away? Finally, does the wall control upgrade need to be installed by a professional? Thanks in advance for your help!

Gail,
The range of the MyQ Control Panel to the Internet Gateway (which plugs into your router) is 300 to 600 ft. So, you should be fine where it is. If there was a chance that the range became an issue, you would just need a way to move the Internet Gateway closer to the MyQ Control Panel and you could do that with a longer Ethernet cable.
As far as the installation of the control panel, it's a simple install that does not need to be done professionally. You will just take your current door control off the wall and take the wires off the current door control and move them to the MyQ Control Panel. It's just two wires held on my screws.
If you have any other questions, let me know. -

Thank you. I do have one more question. Our Liftmaster garage door opener/operator is Model 5011MR. The existing wall control has four wires instead of the two you mentioned and discussed in the installation instructions for the 888LM wall control. How is the 888LM wall control installed in those circumstances? I submitted this same question on the Liftmaster website (by email) and am still waiting for a response. I am attaching photos of our existing wall control in case that helps.

Gail,
Thank you so much for the information. The opener that you have is a commercial door opener. Unfortunately, the 888LM will not work on a commercial application. It works on Chamberlain and LiftMaster residential garage door openers manufactured after 1998 with a purple or red/orange learn button. -
