Where can you find the Internet Gateway 10 digit serial number?
The only serial number I am finding on the device is 12 digits.

The serial number required for the MyQ app is for the Internet Gateway or MyQ Garage. Depending on your opener, I can give you the proper information in order to get your opener on your account. Apologies for any confusion!

We do have an article on the site regarding this issue, located here: https://myqcommunity.liftmaster.com/liftmastermyq/topics/myq_app_will_not_accept_my_serial_number-1k..
The serial number required in the app is for the Internet Gateway or MyQ Garage. They have 10 digit serial numbers. MyQ-enabled garage door openers require an Internet Gateway in order to be added to a MyQ account. Your garage door dealer should have information regarding this, as well. -

Bobby,
You do need an Internet Gateway in order to use the MyQ app and website. The part number is 828LM. -

I've an 11 digit serial number on my 8355 series so I've very confused oh where or how to obtain this 10 digit serial number for the MyQ app to run.

Stephanie,
The 10 digit serial number you need is on the Internet Gateway. You will need the Internet Gateway for your opener to work with the MyQ app.

It silly to buy a device that needs another device to function. Why not just allow it to work your own wifi like NEST does with their products.

I'm a little disgusted about the Internet gateway thing. I was told at Home Depot when I bought the opener that I could open it with my phone. Nothing was mentioned about buying anything extra. I actually bought the nicer one for this feature and no I found out it doesn't cone with it. Won't buy this brand again. Buyers please be aware.

Hi, I have purchased a 8355 Liftmaster and I received the Internet Gateway 828LM as a promo. However, I have issues locating the right 10-digit Serial Number that is required to Add Device. As my Garage Door Opener's Serial Number consists of 11-Digits. I have already entered the 10-digit Serial Number of the Internet Gateway. Can someone help me with this issue?
Thank you-
I would like to know the answer to this too

For those of you who own the internet gateway already and have an 11 digit code with NO actual MyQ serial number. My 3/4 hp Model WD962MLEV does not have a MyQ number and only has the 11 didgit serial number. I have the internet gateway setup, my garage door opener setup, and everything functioning properly. If you are this far and do not see the actual garage door within the app to control it.
Follow these steps to add your garage door to your app:
https://veterangaragedoor.com/faq/how...
1. Open up your app, click the "+" symbol and "Add New Device"
2. Click "Garage Door opener"
3. It will ask you "Are you adding a Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener?", the important part is you want to select "No".
4. Now on your actual garage door opener you want to click the big yellow learning button, your lights will flash and you should be all finished now.
Took me awhile to find this answer and I did not read it anywhere if I overlooked it in the installation I am not sure. This should hopefully solve this question for those of you with a similar setup. -
