Canceling accounts immediately when downgrading is a SCAM! There is no reason to to not continue access for the time that has been paid for!!! It is natural that people forget to cancel 1 day before (like I just have) and get hit with another fee - which seems to be a shameful part of your business plan. I want you to cancel my account now AND retain access for the full time paid!

What's wrong with just letting your paid subscription lapse and cancel sometime later... whenever it crosses your mind?

Or if you just want to downgrade, you will be naturally downgraded once your paid period is over... so you do not have to do anything.

The fact that a delayed cancellation is not available is probably just due to scarcity of programming resources for what seems to me a quite subtle inconvenience.

I'm not sure that you understand the situation (either that or I don't) - it is an automatic renewal system, and if you cancel the next payment then your access (to that level's resources) is immediately cut off even though you have actually paid for the period until the next payment was due. There is no other subscription service that I know of that would do this.

I can't remember why it was done this way. At the time, there was a reason or limitation that forced us to choose to do things this way. Our first choice was to do as you described. As dooo says, it is something we should look at but our scarce resources need to be allocated where they are most needed. If you feel you were unjustly charged, let us know and we'll send you a refund. This is something we will fix eventually.

Thanks for the quick response, as I mention above, there is no other subscription service that I know of that would do this. It doesn't seem like it would be a difficult adjustment to the system to make.
I would appreciate a refund for 1 month's fees - I'm just not using the service and finding I already have other comparable tools for language learning. I had already forgotten to cancel the previous month, and then it happened again - the weeks roll by too quickly.
Best,
Oliver
