Is there a way to export the 3D points in a common 3D format : 3DS IGS or something like that ?

Currently the point data cannot be exported. I'll add it to our list of feature requests, though.

This would be an awesome feature. The ability to do real world 3D modeling without having to develop objects with modeling software. Ahhhh. The thought of unloading Sketchup.

Sorry excited...
Can almost visualize "making" a 3-D model of a vehicle ...say an airplane. Aligning the point cloud of the inside with the point cloud of the outside. Then turning on the photos and walking into it.

How long is the list of features ? And what will be the priority of such a feature ?

I am sorry ... patience is not one of my quality ...

it is not only the point cloud tho. To really be able to use it in a 3d program one would need a algorithm that turns the cloud into a surface. But once you are at that level, you prolly wont need to texture it much since all the information is already there.

so point cloud export into a 3D program -> creating a surface out of the cloud -> texture according to average color and picture reference -> extremely happy crowd of 3d professionals -> start kneeling and thanking the photosynth team
