Device movement tracking for panorama viewing

When viewing a panorama on an iDevice, using the Photosynth app, it would be great to be able to select a "virtual reality" mode, that takes advantage of the accelerometer and/or the compass. The app could change the view according to what direction you are facing, and how you hold the device.

At least one other panorama viewing app (TourWrist) does this, and the "portal" effect is startlingly effective. But I'd much rather use the Photosynth app to do this.
