How to Integrate images on my Magento community 1.7 website using Zoom.it and Skydrive hosting.

Instead of using the traditional zoom system on my website, I would like to use Zoom.it in my magento website.

HEre is the challenge.

Point to the skydrive folder to generate the clickable thundnails on my website site, and then when people click on the thundnails, then they will have a big pop pop full screen with the zoom it picture.

How can I integrate that into the Website? like I mean automatically.
As for now I copy past the thundnails from the folder manually and put manually on each thundnails the zoom it link. But it is very very long.

PS : OF course also the goal would be to not host the HD pictures on my servers, cause it is lots of resources.

Every ideas are welcome, thank you so much guys

Hi Cedric,

zoom.it was an experimental project from the long-since-disbanded Live Labs team at Microsoft. The Bing engineering team has generously continued to fund and maintain the site, but there is no active development or support (beyond some of us former Live Labs team members who continue to follow this forum.)

The functionality you describe is probably possible with zoom.it. zoom.it supports a full API (http://zoom.it/pages/api/), allowing you to create new images programatically from your own site, and the zoom.it image viewer can easily be embedded on any web page.

You would need to create a custom web page that included the necessary JavaScript to generate zoom.it images for each photo added to your site and update your page to include the links to those images. Sorry, but I don't have any sample code or other assistance beyond what you find on the API pages linked above.

That said, zoom.it was never intended to be free storage for libraries of large images. It is an image viewing cache, but the source images must be maintained on your own storage location. The architecture of zoom.it allows rarely-viewed images to be purged from the cache, and then re-generated from the linked source image if they are accessed in the future. (In practice, this rarely happens, but that's how the site is designed to allow it to scale to any volume.)

Hi Bill

Thank you so much for your Help. Here is another strategy.
What about, I generate a pictures gallery in my website from my skydrive for each pictures folder .And then I put the Link zoom.it of the generated image on the comment field of each pictures in Skydrive. And then we will write a script to search for this info in the comment field, and then tell the script to hyperlink the thumbnails with the Zoom.it generated picture.

Do you think that doable ?

PS : What is the Api does, the one you linked to me?

Thank you
