It does not work with live skydrive. When I paste URL of my public folder with photos, it just gives me gray blob.

You need to give Zoom.it the URL to an actual image file, not the URL to the folder.

Although I know that it wants to grow in future, Zoom.it currently only accepts a single image or page at a time.

I'm having the same problem and am providing the specific URL to an image. http://cid-11d8f206b9982135.office-df... generates the following grey box: http://zoom.it/U7cu

This also holds true for PDF or DOCX files in SkyDrive.

Chris, when you are signed into Skydrive as yourself, the URL in your address bar will only work for you.

For other people (like Zoom.it) to even see the page that the photo is on, you'll need to copy the "Web address" in the lower right of the page. This is not what you want, though.

When you are looking at an image in one of your public folders on SkyDrive, just click on the image itself and when you see it alone in the browser window (which is to say - no page surrounding it - no next button or Windows Live header or anything other than the image and empty space around it) then copy the URL that is in your address bar and paste that into Zoom.it.

Thank you. That did the trick. Since the lower right "web address" is not correct, I guess this means there's no way to point to PDF or DOCX files on SkyDrive.

Sorry for jumping in late here, but another approach you can try is:

If you wanted to download the PDF, what link would you click? Now instead of clicking that link, right-click it, and select "Copy shortcut" in IE or "Copy link location" in Firefox (and something similar in other browsers).

If you paste that URL into Zoom.it, does that work?

Thanks for your patience through this. =)

No dice, Aseem. See http://zoom.it/5Dzt for an example.

Thanks Nate, this is super helpful. It actually *should* and *can* work -- this just reveals a slightly different bug that's fixable on our end.

(That link returns a MIME type "application/octet-stream" instead of "application/pdf" even though it's a PDF, and we base our initial processing logic on the MIME type, so we don't recognize it. But in these cases we can sniff the file extension as a fallback.)
