i've installed photosynth and when i try to explore synths, i get the message "We wish Photosynth worked for you. Visit our help page for advice. I tried repairing and found i had to close mozilla to repair, which i did, yet still received the same message. I uninstalled and reinstalled and same message. can anyone please help me with this "error message".
Thanks

Hi Spirit.
Could you please list the OS/Machine type/Graph Card you're using?

Your installation went successfully, but when running Photosynth a problem was encountered that we didn't expect. Most of the time this happens it is because of problems with the drivers for your graphics device. What graphics device do you have?

(Note: You can also try our experimental Silverlight viewer. It's not as good as our main viewer yet, but it should run on a wider class of machines: http://photosynth.com/silverlight )

Im not sure on the video card, there seem to be several installed and a possible conflict. I *think* its and intel indeo video 5.10, IR50-32.dll
I also found some thing that said Legacy standard system with wave.inf file as well as MMVCD & MMVID, which I think was what came with the system but was inactive when upgraded to the Intel, however it is hard to say for sure after looking at the devices and services that are running.

I will try the silverlight viewer, but so far was unable to locate the download on the site, where is it found exactly?
Thanks to both of you for your help, i'm very excited to start using this service!

I'll let Joshua chime in on your video card situation, but as far as Siliverlight goes, that link I gave you (http://photosynth.com/silverlight) should cause Silverlight to be installed. Does that not work for you either?

I really want to use this program but am getting to the point where its just to much bother. MY NEWEST PROBLRM in addition to all of the above is that I had already created an id and profile, now when I try to log in it asks me to create a user id and profile. when i enter the id I have, it says its already in use (duh, by me) yet i can't see where i can log in. this is all very frustrating, and i think you guys need to create clearer error messages or login procedures. any suggestions? my login is spiritheart67@msn.com and my id is spiritheart67.

Try launching the "synther" directly from the Start menu. Start->Programs->Photosynth->Photosynth. This should bring up a small Windows with a sign-in link in the top right. Click this, and type in your Live ID and your password. You should then be able to load photos into it.

I'm sorry you're having lots of problems with Photosynth.
David.
