Odd buggy synth

I just got a synth where there are very closely related photo's that did not synth at all. Where there are 5 that overlap 90% to every other one in the group of 5 that did not work, but much of it worked fine. It looks like it ignored some of the photo's and didn't try and match them.

Hi Alan.
Can you post a link to the synth? I'd love to take a look.

Click "next 3d group" 16 times to cycle though groups containing 5 closely overlapping photos that worked. Then continue clicking "next 3d group" and you see that suddenly it stops working.

Photosynth works by matching textures, your images don't contain much texture because of low lighting conditions causing long exposure times and blurred images due to camera shake.
If you want to take pictures in such a badly lit room then either use a flash to decrease the shutter speed and increase detail, or a tripod to decrease the blur caused by your hands shaking.

Thanks for the info

I'm just experimenting a lot atm not trying for fantastic synths. Thanks for the advice but it's not that it is working or not working that seems but the inequality.

I had the shutter speed set to constant duration (same on every shot). It wasn't all that dark, my camera didn't like it though, like most cameras it prefers bright environments (don't like the whitewash that flash gives).

Does this not a look a little odd?

Worked

Didn't work

Numerous groups in that batch didn't work at all where worse (darker, more blurry, bigger spaces between photos, less texture, less real world stuff, etc...) groups worked really well.

Does it have more of a problem with non flat lighting also?
