On 2016 November 4th the Photosynth team announced that on 2017 February 6th, Microsoft will delete their Photosynth website forever.

Please back up your synths and panos as soon as possible.

You can find their blog post here or reply to them on Facebook or Twitter

They have made an offline viewer available for Windows and Mac to view stitched panoramas and Tech Preview synths (but not original photosynths).

If you care about your photography on Photosynth at all, please download a copy of all of your synths and panos today.

Please read their blog post for instructions on how to download your content.

On 2017 January 3 Henri Astre released a tool to download original photosynths

Photosynth.net is host to three different formats:
original photosynths
stitched panoramas
tech preview photosynths

Photosynth.net has official support to export panoramas and tech preview synths and view them offline but not original photosynths.

You have exactly one month before Photosynth.net and everything on it is permanently deleted so export your synth data while you have the chance!

Here is a basic tutorial I wrote for getting Henri's exporter working on your computer.

After 8 years of capturing the world in 3D, Photosynth will be retired next February. https://t.co/GoB2mc3EvF

Ex-Photosynther Henri Astre has created a way to download your original synths and view them too. Thank you Henri! https://t.co/4OqPxlVS7v
