The Photosynth window only displays a blank screen. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Photosynth, no luck. I have tried restarting the computer, no luck. I get nothing in IE or Firefox. Could it be a software or hardware issue on my machine?

Can anyone help please? This makes no sense. I am running an NVIDIA QuadroFX 3000. The drivers are all up to date.

I still haven't figured this out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Photosynth many times. Just as I test, I tried interacting with the screen and found that the buttons (at least "full screen") are operational, I just cannot see any of them. In other words, if I click in the bottom right corner of the Photosynth viewer where I know the full screen button is, I get a full black screen. Weird. What's more, I also get tool tips when I hover the mouse and by using the method and clicking the "grid view" button, the grid view begins to load then goes to black. What is going on?

The fact that you managed to get the tooltips and the fullscreen button to work makes it very much look like a driver issue. Are you sure you have the latest up to date driver (went to the website and actually installed the nov08 version)?

What OS are you using?

Just for the fun of it, try pressing 'p'? Maybe the pointcloud will show?

Thanks for the feedback. I did not find any driver on the website dated nov08. The most recent one that NVIDIA says is applicable for my driver is the performance driver from June08, which I installed with no change to photosynth. Where did you see the driver you are referring to?

I am running XP 32 bit - SP3 and pressing any of the hotkeys in photosynth does not result in anything more than black screen.

Sorry. The driver for my card/OS had been updated Nov08. The FX3000 June08 driver for Win32 is indeed the latest one.

Lets see...
Could you try the following link:

http://photosynth.net/silverlight

, and see if our Silverlight viewer works?

Meanwhile, I'll go talk to someone and see if I can't find anything that might give us a clue to your problem.

Thanks Joshua. Silverlight appears to be fully functional.

On another note, are you aware if Photosynth is usable on an NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision graphics card? I have been thinking for other reasons anyway.

I looked at the card capabilities, and while the card you have is not top of the line, it definitely fills all the requirements, so I'm not sure why you're having trouble. I passed your issue on to some of our graphics-card experts, but I haven't gotten a response yet.

Thanks so much. I think the card is a bit old and maybe it just isnt able to keep up. I appreciate all the feedback though.
