Where are the solutions to this problem? is it because i am behind a firewall? I do have the minimum requirements and it works fine from home, at work... no go.

I'm also trying to access from a university connection - does that make a difference?

it doesn't work behind proxy/firewall.

before you say to allow ports [yada, yada, yada,].. I'm behind corporate firewall, cannot change settings.

I have been trying for two days to upload to my account and after ICE does its thing I get the error message: Photosynth is not avaliable. Please try again later. Exit Photosynth.

I have tried turning off my firewall but that did not help.

I've never experienced this problem before. I've got about 20 images on Photosynth now.

I don't have any trouble logging into my account or editing images in my account.

Hi, Chester. Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Are you trying to upload from a work or school internet connection?
If so, you may want to look at the Photosynth team's recent reply here.

I'm not using a work or school computer. This is my home desktop PC. I still get the error message: Photosynth is not avaliable. Please try again later. Exit Photosynth. I've tried turning off my firewall but that doesn't help.

I've used the original Photosynth desktop application multiple times on multiple computers since your report, so it appears to be something specific to either your internet connection (like if your connection uses some sort of proxy) or your account (I've seen two people report that turning off their 2 factor authentication at http://account.live.com allowed them to sign in without problems).

If you want to keep 2 factor authentication turned on (and honestly you probably should for security), the Photosynth team reports that you can create an app-specific password to use with Photosynth.

Ok, fine. Two more questions if it isn't a bother..... WTH is a proxy? where would it be? How do I identify it? disable it? Sorry that was four.

Here's the Wikipedia article on proxy servers.

I'm not sure where you live by I don't believe that your Internet Service Provider will have set up a proxy connection as default if you're in the U.S. of A.

If, by some chance, your home Internet connection is set up to use a proxy, here is Microsoft's instructions for how to change Internet Explorer's settings in Windows 7 and Vista.

Am I correctly understanding you that your previous successes with your 20 or so ICE panoramas were all uploaded from this same computer and Internet connection and that one day you started getting this authentication error?

I know you're already here on their support forum, but if what I'm sharing isn't helping, please reach out to the Photosynth team via email at photosynth@live.com

I'm also curious to hear whether you've tried Photosynth's 2014 Technical Preview which allows uploading photos to the website directly through the web browser. It doesn't yet make stitched panoramas like ICE, however that is on their to do list by the time they officially release the Preview site as the full site.

Same computer but a different internet provider. I was using sprint but now I'm using verision home fusion. If it makes a difference my browser is Firefox but I tried IE too and got the same error. My machine currently is xp service pack 3 but soon too change that. I can
log into my photosynth account with no problem.

Chester, sorry to not get back to you.
I reached out to Verizon and Photosynth on Twitter but couldn't get an answer.

Microsoft no longer monitors this Get Satisfaction forum so if you want an official reply you'll have to visit the official Photosynth forum or just email them directly at photosynth@live.com.

I hope you can get back to uploading your panoramas soon.
Your fellow synther and panner,
Nate
