Photosynth website detects browser as mac if HTTP_USER_AGENT string is too long

As reported here, some users IE browsers are detected as macs when the Post Platform registry key has lots of rows, causing the user agent to become too long.

The attached image demonstrates the problem-

(Remember to restart IE after adding the row)

There seems to be other problems with parsing malformed user agents, I think this is also causing the problem where people are repeatedly told that Photosynth is not installed
(I got this error while mucking around with the user agent in Firefox but didn't make a screenshot- to repeat, go to about:config in FF3, search for "useragent" and enter a full IE user agent over the row that says Firefox/3.0, refresh the site)
