Right and lower border tiles distorted

I have implemented Seadragon with the use of an asp.net custom tilesource, however I have a problem with the generated result:

The right and lower edged tiles of the generated deep zoom image are distorted: they are scaled, which messes up the image. As an example I created a simple grid-image for usage in seadragon, and as you can see in the image below, in the lower right corner, the tiles are 'compressed', and are not in their original aspect ratio)

I individually checked the affected tiles by using the tile url from my custom tilesource and this returned me a normal tile, without the compression-effect, so the problem is not located in my custom tilesource.

Also, this is my tilesource declaration:

tileSource = new Seadragon.TileSource(7216, 5412, 256, 0);
tileSource.getTileUrl = function(level, x, y) {
return "url?level=" + level + "&x=" + x + "&y=" + y +"&tileSize=256&tileOverlap=0&image=test.jpg";

The tile generator cuts out tiles of 256x256 pixels (without overlaps). The original picture dimensions are correct. (7216, 5412)

Please, can somebody tell me whats going on?

Hey Sven,

Very sorry for the delay -- we've all just been super busy.

Perhaps you can link us to your image tiles? (Assuming they're on the public internet somewhere.)

As a quick guess, maybe you're not aware that the right and bottom edge tiles should *not* be "padded" with any extra whitespace to make them 256x256; if they only need to be e.g. 100x50, then that's all they should be.

As an example, take a look at the tiles for the featured "Welcome to Seadragon" DZI on our Seadragon.com home page:

Here's the DZI XML:

Even though the tile size is 254x254 with 1px tile overlap, the level 8 tile is not a full 254x254 -- it's only 212x103 because that's all it needs to fit the whole image at that resolution:

And similarly, here are the level 9 tiles:

And so on.

Hope this helps!
