I’m confused

AIR 192 4 interface mic stops working

A bit of background first, the drivers are up to date I am sure. Basically, when I am using discord with my mic connected through the interface, sometimes it will just cut out randomly. I have found that to fix this I need to change the hz to 44500hz and then change it back to 192000hz. This is very weird. It's not the mic as I have used it with a different interface before. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix it randomly cutting out? Thanks :)

    Hey James,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble! When using Discord, are there any other applications that are open and can access a mic input? From your description, it seems that your software may have exclusive access to the mic so that changing programs will terminate the input. Can you confirm which OS your computer is running?

Another thing to consider is your sample rate. Depending on your computer's specs, operating at a sample rate of 192kHz can put unnecessary stress on your system resources. My advice would be to lower the sample rate to at least 48kHz. Do you still experience drop-outs?

  • Hi, thanks for the response

There aren't any other interruptions, it happens randomly whilst I am using it. not using any other programs that use a mic input.
I am using windows 10 Pro.

My computer is a very high spec PC so it should be able to handle it fine. As well as that, my mic seems not to work at anything other than 192kHz

Let me know what you think, thanks :)
