AV 40. Circuit diagram, Z2 voltage and wattage.

I've had a problem with my M-Audio Studiophile AV 40's. I started getting a 50hz hum through the speakers, I opened them up and found that C48 220μf 25v had popped, C47 (same value as C48) had also got very warm. I found Z2 (zener diode) next to C47 was open circuit, what is the value of Z2? I've got the other components.

  • Hey Paul,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry you're having some trouble with your AV40s. While I can't advise in terms of repairing a product yourself, I can help you coordinate service. Warranty and non-warranty claims cannot be handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    or

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

Make sure to reference or link to this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Hi, Thanks for your reply. I'm an electronic technician so this is straightforward stuff for me but it's a tough one to identify damaged components without markings! Thanks for your advice, I'll put a service enquiry in and may hopefully find out the information I need.
