Axiom 49 not seeing directlink, Logic Pro 9.1.8

I am using a friends Axiom 49 with Logic Pro 9.1.8. I installed directlink and Enigma.
Direct link does not show in controller setup.
In Enigma I uploaded the Logic instrument maps from M-Audio site. I am onlyl getting Fader 9 on the Axiom to work. How can I tell if his Axiom is 2nd gen?
I have not used the Axiom with Logic and would appreciate any help getting setup to use faders for mix and instruments.

Thanks in advance

  • Hello,

    Thanks for posting!

The Axiom 1st gen will not operate with Directlink (just 2nd gen). The Axiom pictured on the website linked below is a 2nd gen:

    http://m-audio.com/products/en_us/Axi...

A 1st gen will have the display on the left side of the faders.

If you have a 2nd gen, you'll want to install the Logic Instrument Maps but also the DirectLink Version 1.0.6 for Logic 9 & GarageBand 5.dmg.

Then, see the Axiom DirectLink for Logic Pro
    User Guide
. Chapter 2 covers how to configure this in Logic's control surfaces menu.

Let me know if this helps!

    • Geez, Dan it's obvious he has old version, not MkII. Can you please help by pointing to some resources?

  • Thank you for your reply,
Our 49 is a 1st Gen. I am setting up controller assignments for synths
manually, however faders are not working. I just get one at a time not banks of 8. Where can I find tutorials for setting up fader banks with
Axiom 49 1st Gen, Logic Pro 9, OSX 10.6.8? I am looking for a simple controller assignment setup for basic Synth and Mixer Fader automation control.
    Thanks in advance

  • I’m frustrated
AXIOM you should be ashamed of yourselves and the way you have left the users of your legacy product AXIOM 49 1st Generation - HANGING when it comes to setting up and integrating this midi controller to Logic.

What's worse is how you have FAILED us all by never having developed a beginners guide to MIDI CONTROLLERS 101.

We the buyers of your legacy machines were your FIRST customers - the one's who invested OUR capital into YOUR designs and concepts. Without us you would NEVER have had the money to create your Generation 2's 3's or new machines.
Rather than build us bridges and interfaces to the new functionalities you have choosen to treat us like chumps and dupes - and leave customers like me, Dan R, Llear77 and I am sure many many others unsupported, uninstructed, ignorant and out to dry.

How do your employee replies to these guys make me feel? - Like you don't give a FxCK as you laugh your way to the bank! Shame on you :-/
