Change preset in Logic synth using oxygen 25

Hello

How do I cycle through presets in Logics synths such as the ES2 or other VST's?

On page 5 in the manual
http://cinematicarts.unm.edu/wp-conte...

It says "Program: This function sends Program Change MIDI messages on the
Global Channel and can be used to select different sound
patches contained within your virtual instrument or sound module."

But I'm not sure if this is what is meant and how to do it.

Also:
What is the global, program and presets on the oxygen controller and what is it used for ?

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting.

Yes, a program change would be what you want to use to change VSTi presets from the keyboard. You'll want to check with the software developer and see if they will accept program change messages or if there are any special exceptions.

You can send a program change from the Oxygen, as according to the manual, by pressing the SELECT button until the red light is above "PGM" and then use the "+/-" buttons to send incremental/decremental program changes. This should make the plugin go up and down in presets. There are also a few more variations of sending program change messages that you can get from the User Manual.

Global, Program and Presets indicate what is currently selected. Global is your global MIDI channel, Program is program change (as we just discussed) and Preset is the preset on the board. Different presets have different configurations and settings for the board parameters, like the knobs and fader.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
