Code 49 - MIDI Out DIN not working.

I've had my code 49 for about a year now and it has been working fine through the USB port built in. However, my setup now requires the use of the MIDI out DIN port on my Code 49. I am using this cable/interface for this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T28SBCK/...

I set up "MID ON" on the Code 49 to enable the MIDI OUT din as per the article:

https://m-audio.com/kb/article/1866#M...

I also ensured that the MIDI IN cable is connected to the MIDI OUT port on the controller. But when I open the interface, no MIDI data is transmitted.

I also updated the Code 49 firmware to 1.3.0 successfully and performed a factory reset (then re-enabled "MID ON" on the controller again) all to no avail.

I ensured that the MIDI cable/interface works on another keyboard (A Yamaha P-255) and midi was transmitted to my computer perfectly.

How can I resolve this?

  • Hey Steven,

    Thanks for posting!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble! After pressing the MIDI Out key to enable the port, try pressing the Enter key to confirm your selection. If you try this and are still unable to transmit MIDI via the DIN port, then there may be a hardware issue. In which case, I recommend contacting the support team for further assistance. Warranty and non-warranty claims cannot be handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    or

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

Make sure to reference or link to this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
