I’m Frustrated

Code 49 will not respond in FL Studio 12

I NEED SOME HELP.
I JUST BOUGHT THE CODE 49. IM TRYIN TO RUN IT THRU FL STUDIO AND I'M GETTING NO WHERE. WHEN I DOES MANAGE TO SYNCH UP THE FADERS ARE NOT CONNECTING CORRECTLY( I.E. WHEN I ASSIGN FADER 4 TO THE CONTROLLER FOR SOME REASON IT MOVES TO 7). FL STUDIO IS RESPONDING TO THE MOVEMENTS BUT I CAN'T ASSIGN. I'VE GONE TO THE WEBSITES AND NOTHING SEEMS TO BE WORKING. I DON'T KNOW WHY.

CAN ANYONE INSTRUCT ME OR SEND A VIDEO LINK TO SHOW ME HOW TO CORRECTLY. STEP BY STEP HOOK MY CODE 49 UP TO PLAY INSTRUMENTS AND AND SAMPLE. AND EVERYTHING I PAID OVER $300 TO USE IF FOR

THANK YOU KINDLY

    Hi George,

    Thanks for posting.

First, please do not post in all caps. This is difficult to follow and comes across as yelling.

Second, just follow this setup guide and it will walk you through the entire procedure:

Code Series - Setup in FL Studio

Please Note: When you're looking at the MIDI Preferences window, below and to the right of both the Output and Input windows, you'll see a "Port" setting. With MIDIOut3 (Code) and MIDIIn 3 (Code), set both of these fields to "102."

Let me know how this goes!

  • Thank you for responding. I did all of the above. I was able to at least get the mixers working properly. And FL Studio is recognizing inputt. But im not getting any output. I can't quite figure out how to map the keys or the drum pads. And for some reason when I press certain keys that aren't making sounds. It opens of my tool bar. When I press C# or B it will open up widows This can't be right

    Hi George,

It sounds like you assigned the first Code port to Mackie Controller instead of the third Code port. The first port should only be enabled and should stay as a Generic Controller. Go through the guide again to double-check this.

That likely is the cause of the no sound problem as well as the problem with the keys opening windows in the software.

Other than that, make sure that you understand the software and how to open virtual instruments and plugins. You can check out guides like this one to get started:

    I hope this helps!
