Code25 doesn't react after playing for a while

I have Code25 and MacBook Pro with 10.11 El Capitan.
My problem is while I'm playing Code25, after a while it doesn't react. Without any regularity of timing or something else. After 3 mins or 5 mins or max 10 mins it doesn't react whatever I do. When I plug off and plug in for 2 times, it becomes normal. I made updates and drivers with the latest ones but still have this problem since I bought it. I tried in a different computer(but not the same properties), it works normal at least for half an hour. I know it's a strange problem but I don't know what to do because I tried all the ways I know. Please help. Thanks.

    Hey Fikri Umut Yener,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble! The Code 25 is class compliant and does not require an additional driver for the macOS. It sounds like you are experiencing a USB connectivity problem. This can result from a faulty USB cable or port on either the Code or your computer.

Let's test the connection between the controller and the computer. Try connecting the controller with a different USB cable, with different USB ports on your computer, to see if you can reproduce the same behavior. Be sure to connect directly to the computer via USB and avoid using any USB hubs or adapters.

If you try the steps listed above and are still having issues, it may be related to the Code's USB port. Sometimes the port pins can bend, causing data loss or complete unresponsiveness. Warranty and non-warranty claims cannot be handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    or

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

Make sure to reference or link to this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Hello Eliza,

I tried with all USB ports and still have the same problem. I already made all firmware updates too.

Also I tried with another Mac and it's operator wasn't El Capitan and it worked fine.

I haven't gotten any problem with my USB ports for 3 years also with another midi keyboards besides Code25.

If you can help me with another solutions, please let me know.

    Hey Fikri,

Sorry to hear that you are still having trouble! It sounds like there may be a third party driver that is conflicting with the Code. I suggest creating a new MIDI Configuration in your Mac's MIDI Studio. Follow the instructions outlined in this article:

Set up MIDI devices using Audio MIDI Setup on Mac

Let me know how it goes!

  • Hey Eliza,

I made the configuration and trying for hours but still have the problem. Just the thing is, it lasts more like 10-15 mins but in the end it doesn't react again. I tried with and without my audio interface too. Also, I tried with different softwares.

Do you know any other solutions ? Please let me know.

    Hey Fikri,

Apologies for the delay! I've been looking into this for you. I found that the El Capitan OS made alterations to its USB specifications and has been known to cause connectivity issues for class compliant devices. This is because the controllers rely on native OS drivers not their own.

Users experiencing this issue have found success by resetting their Mac's SMC and NVRAM. These procedures are thoroughly covered in this helpful article.

Let me know how it goes! If you are still having issues, I can arrange for a technical support agent to reach out to you directly via email.

    Hope this helps!
