CTRL49 setup in Pro Tools, "ARP" not synced
Hi, I can't manage to syncronise the CTRL49 Arp with ProTools clock. I setup my CTRL49 to "External" and ProTools with MIDI Controllers "HUI", "CTRL Mackie/HUI", "CTRL Mackie/HUI". As soon as press ARP and play a Virtual Instrument from the M-Audio, there is no sound.

Also when you press play?
In cubase there is also no sound when there's no project playing.
Only when i turn on "send midi clock in stop mode"
Don't know if that's available in protools. -

Enabling the CTRL in MIDI Beat Clock, make it playing only when a project is playing (...with latency).

Thx Gidi ! I don't see such a feature as "send midi clock in stop mode" in ProTools.

HI Richard,
Thanks for posting! (and thanks for the answer, Gidi!)
Yes, that's normal. Typically your DAW won't begin sending MIDI clock until the transport is actually moving and the arp, since it relies on this MIDI clock, won't start until it receives the clock. If the DAW doesn't offer a way to send clock while stopped, you'll just have to use the arp while Pro Tools is playing back.
Let me know if you have more questions! -

Thanks a lot for your help, Corey !
I noticed that sometimes I lose the communication between the CTRL and VIP (keys and mod-wheel doesnt react in VIP while I can still hear sound when playing the keyboard of the virtual synth), even when restarting my mac.
I have the driver installed.
Thank you in advance for your help !-
Very weird! Is that only while running VIP in Pro Tools or will this happen standalone as well? What operating system?
You may want to start by reinstalling your drivers (they're on your account page) and check that you're using the Mackie/HUI port for your Macke/HUI control setup in peripherals. You don't want to send the main USB port to the control surface. -

Hi Corey,
Sorry about that, that was only in standalone mode but I noticed that I just forgot to check the midi settings... Have a great day !-
Thanks for checking! Let me know if you have more questions :)

Me again : )
I did many test using the CTRL without VIP in OSX 10.8.5 and I lose many time the MIDI connection with the CTRL, I need then to take off and put the USB cable on to make it work again or switch off & turn on the CTRL.
In ProTools (HD 10.3.10) peripherals, I set up the MIDI Controllers as:
HUI / receive from CTRL Mackie HUI / Send to CTRL Mackie HUI
The CTRL is in internal mode, extrnal does not work anymore, can't figur out why. -

By the way, is there a way to have the ProTools mode in the CTRL directly selected (or an arpeggiator) when turning on the keyboard? (I tried changing the alphabetic order of Live 9 or erasing it but couldn't)

Switching off and turning on the CTRL change the vitrual instruments presets, is ther a way to avoid that? Thank you for your help : )
