DAC functionality not working according to specification

I've changed the setting in windows to '24 bit, 192000 Hz' - after hitting the 'test' button, and hitting OK, the setting immediately reverts to '24 bit, 41000 Hz'. (Audio crackles and sputters, sometimes. Not always, when the test is happening.)

If I set it to '24 Bit, 192000 Hz' and just hit OK, and not test, it stays... However, when any sound is played through it, it stutters until the driver eventually fails outright and stops working entirely. Then it recovers, it defaults back to '24 bit, 41000 Hz'.

I've used a driver-scrubber program to wipe the entire driver out, and reinstalled it using the latest drivers provided on the website, and I still have the same issue.

It appears to happen on any sample-rate other than 41000 Hz.

I'm using a pair of Denon AH-D7000's -- which work perfectly at 24 Bit, 96000 Hz on a FiiO Headphone DAC and has for the past year.

Any ideas?
