I’m Frustrated

M-Audio Keystation mini 32 MK3 USB device not recognized

It powers up but the computer says that the USB device malfunctioned. Also, it is not recognized by the Ipad Pro using the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter but it momentarily works using a USB C to USB 3.0 adapter. It will work for about 10 seconds before failing.

  • Hey Louis,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry you're having some trouble with that! They Keystation series is class compliant with macOS so these controllers will use your computer's built-in Core MIDI drivers in order to connect. The following knowledge base article will help you troubleshoot your Keystation's connection:

M-Audio - Troubleshooting USB MIDI devices on Mac

Since it sounds like you are using some adapters to connect the hardware, I would recommending connecting the Keystation to a computer directly via USB without the need for an adapter and see how it behaves. This will help determine whether the issue is relative to the hardware itself.

If you try the above steps and determine that your Keystation is not working properly, our support team will be happy to help you! Warranty and non-warranty claims cannot be handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

Make sure to reference or link to this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
