I’m confused

M-Audio M-Track 2x2M doesn't work on MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6

Bought it today (second hand). When connected to MacBook Pro (Early 2011), system doesn't recognize it. Phantom Power works - well at least light is on when I'll switch the function on (so device is receiving the power from laptop) but, I can't see device anywhere. Nothing inside Audio Preferences or Audio Midi Configurator. I tried to connect it to Win10, downloaded and installed drivers, and it's working. I don't have a clue why it doesn't work on MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6. I know I'm not the only one who's got the same problem. Has anyone got a solution ? Maybe it's something inside the MacOS ? Please help !

    Hey Adam,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry to hear that! You may need to rescan your mac's USB ports. Follow this guide for more information on how to do this:

If the M-Track still doesn't recognize, you may need some more in depth troubleshooting. This guide covers specific tactics for Macs:

Try this and let me know how it goes!

  • Hi Eliza,

I went through all the steps once again and unfortunately it didn’t solve the problem. Tried 3 different cables and USB ports. I tried it also on a different computer with MacOS Catalina and it wasn’t working as well. It looks like it’s a hardware problem itself.

    Hey Adam,

I'm sorry to hear that! It's most likely not a hardware problem as the unit was functioning with Windows 10. Catalina isn't officially supported, so that's not the best system to test with. In any case, I would recommend calling the support team. They'll be able to walk you through some more in-depth troubleshooting for your system.

Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    or

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

Make sure to reference or link to this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
