M-Audio M-track makes popping and digital noises when imac is in sleep mode, everytime, works fine when computer is in use. Is there a solution to this issue? Apparently there is no firmware for this device for mac. Thanks

  • Hey R.,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry you're having some trouble with that! The M-Track is a class compliant USB device with macOS so it will use the Core Audio drivers on your computer's operating system in order to connect and transfer data.

I've never heard of anyone experiencing that symptom before! If no audio sources are streaming, the M-Track should not be producing any audio. I'm guessing the M-Track is connected to monitor speakers and they are what is emitting the noise not the actual M-Track itself? Does the behavior persist if you turn the main monitor volume on the M-Track all the way down?

I would recommend starting by troubleshooting the USB connection - try connecting the M-Track with a different USB cable and to different USB ports on your computer - this will help rule out the connection as a possible cause.

If you continue to experience the same, try testing the M-Track with a different computer to see if you can reproduce that behavior. If you are still hearing the noise with a different computer, this sounds like it may be hardware related. Warranty and non-warranty claims cannot be handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    or

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
